You cant fault the guy for effort, I don't know many sales men who would happily come out and help you strap a load on. But, can he produce a deal that the farm can afford and justify? I may have set my sights a bit higher than I can reach.

George Saunders has also been trying out a T5 140 and was also highly impressed. He was using it for carting grain and really liked the gearbox. Well worth a look.

All else being equal, Marley would have my vote. In a world where all the big manufacturers are good, with little to split them, good customer service and a 'Marley' on the other end of a phone is a big part of my decision making.

Good evening Mr.P. You must be really pleased that all the bale carting is done and they are safely home. From what you have said any other make of tractor has got to go a long way to beat the T5 and it will be interesting to see what they came up with. Ridge and Furrow Goes back over 1,000 years.It was used in medieval times in the open field system of the time each member of the community having their own strip or strips in a communal field.It was ploughed using a single furrow plough throwing the soil upwards into a ridge.The system normally followed the lay of the land so that the land drained down hill into a ditch or stream. That tractor seems spot on to me for what you need,nothing like a nice weight bar,I seem to remember homemade ones,a length of scaffold bar set into a 50 gallon barrel filled with concrete.They worked.

When the sales man is happy to be a point of contact for everything from a purchase to a fault then you know you have good dealer support for the product. The dealers I bought my car off won't entertain anything that's 'Not my job' and will just tell you to contact whoever rather than putting you through or getting them to contact you. Needless to say I go elsewhere for service.

The Kubotas are Hurliman under the orange bonnet,they bought into Hurlimann when it was in difficulty and Kubota wanted a bigger tractor range to sell in Europe and Ametica

I’m kind of partial too the blue. Declan(Farming life at LaForge) has a big collection of older Fords/New Hollands, so I get my fix for older units there, but I’m liking this newer setup. It will still be nice to see what the other guys have to offer you for testing in the next little while.

love the t5 good strong tractor with plenty of go plus the loader looks a handy job too. we have a t6.175 on demo at the Mo with the gearbox you have in that and it is so nice and effortless to drive. as you say case is the same as they come of the same line at Basildon factory. happy tractor buying.....

Hi Ian it's great to see you in both the T7 and the T5 I'll love to see you in other tractors and hear what you have to say on them but the end of the day it's your money and what is right for you and the farm so I would never tell you that you need a red or a blue tractor a big one or a small one best of luck choosing one or sticking with what you got witch is bought and payed for.

Yah i think size of Frame is perfect but hp you may want a bit more but may not be possible without going into a bigger frame mind you hp wise im use to our north american equipment so nothing is small and a 140hp tractor would have a tough time out in the field doing tillage and barely adequate for our balers as we run big 6ft bales and we always liked having a bit of room to wiggle so we aren't working a tractor to 100% so if you get in a bind you still have a bit of power to get you back out

If you do decide on the NH with loader have a walk through of removing and attaching the loader. Just to figure out a "parking space" for it. No need to make anything more of a hassle after falling in love with the tractor itself.

Hi Ian, You said the T5 was using more fuel than the larger one, but you were only carting with that one not loading as well. I think the tree guys will be happy your thinking of a loader tractor as it will free up the one for them. You now have a bench mark to go at, plus you and Funky + Harry could have a chat. I'm totally confused with who make tractors now, the farm I worked on ran 11 Fordson Majors, 1 Old cast rad Fordson Major and a Massey Ferguson 165. All made I think by the name on the bonnet. Now there are so many different makes and within that made by different plants. ?????

The reaction when the farmer told that his old loader tractor is stronger and has thicksterl loaderarms then the t5. Priceless. Well as the snow plow can be a quick fix on the front. Is the t 5 maybe a very good candidate. To be a new Bradley farm tractor. When we keep the farmer busy he has no time to be naught to his Mrs. What does your lovely and very wise wife think about the new tractor has she bin in or around the tractors ???

I terms of fuel, a bigger engine running at less than its potential is often easier than a smaller engine running at full tilt With excavators I can do twice the work in a 5 ton machine operating at 3/4 throttle compared to a 3 ton at full throttle. Both would use around 25 litre of fuel in 7 or 8 hours.

I have to say my suggestion about the t6 a few videos back was more to do with you saying the t7 was too big. At the end of the day it's your money, your choice. That said, I started farming in blue tractors, including county's so I biased towards that shade of blue.

Mr P, I’m from nz, but was Wass warned by an independent mechanic, apparently, case and new holland, much the same but with modern mechanics, not the same. Here in nz, advised new holland as support network and spares is stronger. Don’t know about your town

Trade ya for all of our gas models that we are using here at the farm. I am an IHC red or Allis Chalmers orange guy myself, but I have been looking at the blue models myself. A great salesman at a dealer is a plus for you and a dealership, especially if he/she has a dirty mind like ours. Marley can sell me a blue machine anyday. Dave N.

The Case vestrum is basically the same tractor, different colour. It will be interesting to see what massey offer you. I see Mr funky farmer trying out a global series massey and George sanders has a t5 the same as your trialing. You farmer's must be making a fortune 😁😆😅🤣. Valtra are similar to massey, all agco.

Ian, Had my engineer husband do some math. According to him, 100 miles on 50 litres (@ 3.78 litres per US Gallon) works out to a mileage of about 7.6 miles per US Gallon. Does this sound right? To me it sounds economical for a big machine doing a lot of work.

There's the journey mileage plus the field mileage loading to add in for the second tractor. I drove Caterpillar motor scrapers building embankments ready for a Motorway, The company had groups of student engineers with stop watches timing the runs and a sheet would be produced on. Tons per mile, fuel used tyre wear pressures and temps, to find the best cost effective way. Every machine job had a time and motion sheet and just by setting a truck to be loaded at a slight angle could save time and fuel over the day.

with me it's not the colour of the machine it's the make and mine is and always will be Massey the one thing that i have always liked with Massey is they always show it as (example 170hp it is actually a 190hp they always sell them 10 or 20 hp below it's max capability it is to prevent people maxing out the tractor but a lot of companies don't do that at all
