Team Combi-Rings also released a Ray mod recently and it's probably the most fun I've had with a SRB2 character mod, they made Ray's gliding really fun in a 3D space

I recommend trying out the Metroid: Vanguard mod (made by the same person who made Adventure Sonic). It basically turns the entire game into a Metroid game, complete with progressive upgrades, new bosses, and even new levels interspersed between the original levels.

Another little detail and a half about the surge character mod is that she will automatically charge her electrical abilities if your in a lightning/magnetic shield, this happens constantly so long as you keep the shield (she is also immune to electric hazards and will instead charge from them, think the flashing floors or electric fences) The infinite surge is also something that occurs in her super form which I just call power surge EDIT: also for obvious reasons entering water/liquid discharges any electricity she may have had built up, no dash or super high jump in the water, only her little double jump and homing attack)

The Kirby mod for SRB2 is super fun. It ports the physics from Kirby games and if you eat some types of enemys you get the abilities. For exploring the map, Kirby is a very good character. Can swim very well and the fly is limited, but is still useful.

With the Chaotix mod, if you do Vector's wall bounce consistently in a row, each successful bounce will play a small portion of "This Horizon", the title screen theme of Knuckles Chaotix

One of my personal favorite char mods in SRB2 is the MC Pack, also stands for Max control. It reaorks all of the main characters movesets into something entirely different, and also improves momentum and physics. One of the best things about the mods is hom many abilities they added to the characters without cloging the buttons, for example sonic has a spindash, momentum-based double jump thok, insta-shield, drop dash, super peelout (whitch is actually usefull because it sets you at top speed and gives s), a boost mode that isn't completly busted or impossible to control or get into, a triple bounce, can curl and uncurl at anytime, and CAN SPINDASH UP WALLS. It generally makes the game way smoother and quicker paced and gives more options while not packing too much into the character

These mods are all great. With all the character mods out there, I'm surprised no one has tried to create mods for SatAM/Archie characters. There's also a lot of wonderful level mods out there. The Speed Highway and Egg TV Network are highly recommended.

The roll jump for mario is supposed to be a dive, but chaotix fucks it up and makes it the roll jump.

Heck yeah, I just recently did an encore playthrough of SRB2 with like 20 to 30 modded characters and it was so much fun! Most of the characters in this video were on my list of mods! My personal favorite is the Deltarune Characters mod! The finishing blow to the final Eggman fight was done by The Noise XD

Great Video Garrulous! This video already shows a lot of great character mods that this game has to offer, but I might as well mention a few more bangers that don't really get a ton of love that I feel like should get more. Pointy Sonic & Fluffy Tails [by Chrispy Pixels]: This is a 2 in one character mod and it basically takes the idea of what if Sonic and Tails felt like they were from Sega Saturn Games such as Sonic Jam and Sonic R, and puts them into the game, and not only do they control really well and have great spritework, but they also have EMOTES too! Modern Sonic [by MotorSpork]: This mod is one that most people are familiar with in the SRB2 Modding scene, and it basically takes the gameplay of the Modern Games (Unleashed - Colors) and puts it into SRB2! This means that we have mechanics such as the Boost & Drifting, Sliding, Wall Jumping, and even Tricks when bouncing off of Springs! Neo Sonic [by Chengi] Neo Sonic is similar to Modern Sonic where he rewards fast gameplay by having a dash mode, as well as sick looking sprites when moving at high speed! Not only that but he also has the homing attack too! Bandages [by Dr. Stephen] Going by the name of this mod, this mod is based on Boom Sonic! Not only does he have the look from Sonic Boom, but in addition to that, he also has a Double Jump, Enerbeam, and a fast rechargable Spindash! Junio Sonic [by MotorRoach] Going by the name of this mod, this mod is based on Sonic from the Intro of Sonic CD! Meaning there are sick spritework that looks like it was ripped straight out of the animation, and unique moves such as an air dash that you can choose whatever direction to bolt forward in, as well as the Super Peelout!

Another mod I personally recommend are the Delta Chars. (Kris, Susie and Ralsei) They have dialogue boxes which just adds personality to it and I honestly think that they wrote the characters very accurately to how they are in Deltarune Another is Nick's Tower of Pizza which adds Peppino and The Noise, they play very accurately to how they play in Pizza Tower

Just a quick heads up to the people who wanna try it; The Tangle mod is super fun, but the eggman castle boss is incredibly difficult and requires either super precise attack placements or tons of damage boosting. Her tail doesn't reach fully on the last bit of the first phase, and she doesn't have a spin jump, only a kick a few seconds after leaving the ground, so that boss is a pretty big hurdle. Other than that though, I highly recommend it!

One of my personal favorite SRB2 mods is known as Metroid Vanguard. It not only adds Samus as a playable character with an exploratory/First Person shooter play style that is reminiscent of both Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, but it also overhauls the whole campaign with music and atmosphere changes, adds two new bosses (three if you count the massive rework to the final boss), and breathes whole new life into the Ringslinger multiplayer mode (you know, the arena shooter game mode that everyone except me seems to have forgotten about?) If you and your friends are looking for an interesting new way to play SRB2. I seriously recommend giving Samus and Metroid Vanguard a shot.

Ah right, Blaze. I helped out with the sound effects for this one. Because I didn't know how to properly "rip" Rush's sounds. At the time. I did it the creative way and tried to recreate the sounds manually by ear and using a music tracker. Thank god for that copy of rush I still have. So yeah, the sounds for Blaze weren't ripped. They were created by ear.

Correction at 11:11 you don't need to do the teleport move to cling onto walls you just have to hold jump on a wall to do it also you can walk on the ceiling with the wall climb move by either using the teleport move to direct you up to the ceiling, using the wall climb move to climb on the wall to the ceiling, or if the ceiling is short enough jump to the ceiling also with the buddy ex mod part of the video i saw that that some of the characters aren't the color they are supposed to be so here's a tip with buddy ex when adding a bot you can type "addbot ______ skin" without the " and you will get the correct skin color of the corresponding character

I actually used to hate SRB2. It felt really bad to play. But, then I discovered that mods were a thing and now it's one of the best Sonic games you can play. For me, the best mod is Pointy & Obnoxious, which lets you play as a little 3D Sonic with Jaleel White's voice. He has a dedicated "dab" button and is a complete degenerate. I love him. I was also able to tweak the physics values and make Sonic not feel like an air hockey puck.

What's the input for blaze's boost? I played as her and never noticed a boost, but also my control setup has none of the multiplayer inputs set as I only play solo, if anyone could tell me any inputs I'm missing out on, I have customs 1-3 mapped on my controller, spin and jump also of course but in some instances characters almost seemed broken or I didn't have the right inputs setup. Like team kinetic when playing as all 3 it says you can swap between them with like view next and prev but it never works even when I map those buttons, someone please help me.

i love srb2 modding and i feel like crediting each mod to just one person was a mistake. while theyre uploaded to individuals' accounts a lot of these are collaborative efforts. the sa2 mod had spriting by metalwario but most of the coding was by golden shine, and the mario bros. mod was mostly programmed by sms alfredo but sprited and originally uploaded to the account of dirkthehusky, the mod was transferred to sms alfredo's account when dirkthehusky was banned from the srb2 message boards
