I did this a year ago to an 1887 Westley Richards 16 bore boxlock, also with Damascus barrels. The best part of the process for me was finding the right craftsmen to do a sympathetic restoration and end up with the gun still having the patina of over a century of use, and not looking like it just came out of a modern factory. It sounds like you have found the same type of tradesmen (there’s very few left now) to do the work. I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I have and have the continued pride of holding functioning family history in your hands. 😊👍

It looks like there might have been a bulge or dents and the barrels have been repaired and filed and polished off

Be great to see that gun in a future video. To help yourself out a bit take it for a round of clays first to get the Eye in a bit better , just trying to help no judgement going through a slack patch myself.

Yeah good tip. I plan to do a fair bit of practice in the off season
