Good that you’re going with b.y.o.s. that was one of the most important reasons for our team to move from Frame to Iconik. I really dislike products that want to be our storage.

We hear BYOS and want to know which clouds you'd prefer to work with so we can prioritize them as read/write directories within our platform.

For the insane transcoding speed the footage of course needs to be in the cloud first, so on location transcoding probably still is faster than uploading the raw footage or am I missing something.

You're absolutely right based on today's average bandwidth. That's why we're working to build "a bridge to the cloud" which will help fill those gaps until bandwidth can catch up. One way we're doing this is building a pipeline service in which you can attach your local disks into Strada - this means you can render proxies to Strada using your local computer and compress them to files that match your bandwidth. This way auto sync, color, analyze, transcribe, translate, transcode, tagging, and transfer can all be done via Strada. Plus, with this service Strada is aware of your OCF - so you can either A) upload it later when you have the bandwidth or B) relink back to OCF later in the process. For people with a NAS, this means your local NAS can actually act as if it's a cloud (I mean, that's what clouds are anyway:-) for people on your collaboration team.
