Not intentionally. She genuinely thought she was a good break dancer. She had even written her thesis on break dancing once (look it up). So even though you might view it as a mockery, that wasn't her intention. Just like someone who isn't a good swimmer isn't mocking swimming when they try. The fact is, no one should have put her in the Olympics in the first place, despite how good she thought she was. But at least it's given most of us a laugh... that is, apart from people who take all of this stuff much too seriously.

All that 'Raygun' captured was a ZERO. There was no 'Australian Breaking Committee' so Rachael Gunn decided to create her own, she made her husband the chair, her friends the competitors and excluded any and all breakers that were better than her. Rachael Gunn ensured that only she would make it to the olympics, despite knowing that she 'was never going to beat these girls on what they do best '. That's like saying 'I can't sprint 100m so I'll walk it instead' and expecting to get extra points for it.

None of that is true. All of Oceania has a breaking committee and has had one for decades (long before Raygun was even an adult). Raygun is guilty of nothing but being privileged. Like almost any other Olympic sport, breakdancers weren't paid and didn't have any travel costs covered. So only a select few even *tried* to qualify for the Olympics. It was so bad that retired Oceanic breakers had to be persuaded to come out of retirement so the pool wouldn't be too small. All of this lead to a situation where there was a serious lack of talent in qualifying, and Raygun was easily one of the two best - barely winning the final over another Australian breaker who also apparently had a serious lack of skill. The point being, the usual problems you hear about Olympic athletes (i.e., they often don't get paid and/or sleep in their cars) is absolutely true for breaking as well, and when the breaking community in a region is *already* very small (like it is in Oceania), that leads to a serious lack of talent.

Her best sucked. She got 0 as a score. The Olympics isn't a everybody gets an award for participating. She embarrassed her country, Australia. She thinks having a degree in hip-hop and break dancing, it makes her an expert. It was an insult to the culture, Black and Latino American culture Her husband was one of the judges who decided who was going to the Olympics Which means she took someone else chances. Because of Raygun, they have gotten rid of it

Actually it's established years prior which sports will be at the next Olympics, and it's normal for a newly introduced sport to not be at the following Olympics. Niche Olympic sports are routinely taken in & out of the lineup.

@@aechmaydostuff Regardless of what you think about breakdancing, dance itself is an art form. Which by definition, is purely subjective to the viewer and therefore the judges. Olympic sports should have a clear and objective winner by measurement or submission. With an art form, that isn't possible, and is the reason "Ray Gun" made it to the Olympics in the first place. Either that, or Australia's talent pool is as much of a wasteland it's famed outback.

As a Swede, I must say that you missed two or three awesome Swedish moments 😉 #1) Mondo Duplantis new world record and the reaction he gave. Bro was halfway off the mat before he even landed 😆 #2) Truls Möreåhrd (Or Moeregardh as the English spelling would be), and his reaction when the whole crowd, many in French, started cheering him on. He was so confused, it was adorable! And #3 would also be from the ping pong match where Truls won the silver, and he hit the ball with such a screw that it bounced on the opponents side and then back to his, earning him a point. The Chinese flung himself across the table and looked stunned to the point of almost laughing, and Truls reaction was also priceless 😂
