Hey guys here’s an update. Start off at 37 grains of lil gun for the 1 1/4 ounce load and roll crimp it. Upon further review we think that load may be a bit hot. As always load at your own risk. The data we used for that load may not be accurate from the listed psi.

Well done young man! It's nice to see the new generation picking up the torch us old guys have loved all along. The 16 is a true gentleman's gauge. I have shot everything and there is just something special about that guage. It's just right! Well done!

New to reloading seems like a great channel to learn on I would like to see 12ga 2-3/4 4shot or 6shot lead and see how it patterns

I’m looking into adding another shotgun in 16ga. Do you have a favorite 16ga. Shotgun , at least one that won’t break the Bank 🏦. Thanks for another great video.

@outdoorswithroostercurrie6984Ай бұрын
@@theshotgunscientists thanks, I have a TriStar Viper G2 in 28Ga. and I love it. I was looking at The Browning Sweet 16 Lightning and I really liked the looks of it. But you think the TriStar is a better weapon?
@theshotgunscientistsАй бұрын
If you have money for a browning go for it. I’ve never shot one of the new browning A5’s but I know they’re great. Owned the tristar for well over a year now with over 1000 rounds in it and can’t remember having a malfunction so it’s a good id feel comfortable recommending too.
@outdoorswithroostercurrie6984Ай бұрын
@@theshotgunscientists I think I’ll stick with the TriStar , that’ll save me a good chunk of money to buy all the stuff to start reloading for it too. Thanks for your input.

How did you get into this? You have a lot of knowledge on reloading.
@theshotgunscientists10 ай бұрын
I got a 16 gauge shotgun and didn’t wanna pay the extra few dollars a box for shells. All my life I saved every hull or brass case I shot because I knew one day I would be reloading them. Same with josh. He saved everything he shot.

You guys ever duplex loads? Been wondering how a duplexed load with #9 TSS on bottom with #5 bismuth on top for ducks and #7 TSS on bottom with #3 bismuth on top for geese would do using 1/2 OZ TSS in both and 7/8 OZ bismuth. Bullet225HO loads duplexed .410 and 28 gauge with 8.5 TSS and #4 steel and it seems to work well but I have yet to see anyone do TSS and bismuth.
@theshotgunscientists Жыл бұрын
With lead yes. Just getting started with bismuth and tss.

I use the roto-metal #5's in my .50 cal seneca wingshot2. It patterns and performs well. But they deffinately are not perfectly round.

12 gauge and test pattern. Trying do determine if bismuth is worth the money.
@theshotgunscientists Жыл бұрын
We will do 12 gauge. In my opinion bismuth is definitely worth it. Hits way harder than steel.

I'd love to see some more bismuth loads for 20 gauge. Particularly something above 1300 fps.

Is the Win CF load tested data?
@theshotgunscientists11 ай бұрын
Yes but the data called for a waa16 wad which is discontinued so I used the claybuster clone. I can’t remember where I found the data but I think it was from a manual one of my friends sent me photos of. It was a really good patterning load.
@PatternChief11 ай бұрын
@@theshotgunscientists Cool, I think I’ll give it a try. I do have 209As, but if I used W209s should lower pressure a bit?
@theshotgunscientists11 ай бұрын
@@PatternChief it being a weaker primer I would think so. If you want you could start at 18 grains and work up. I personally would anyway.
@PatternChief11 ай бұрын
@@theshotgunscientists I just loaded up a box with 24.5 grains, 24 or 23 would probably have been a safer bet. Everything out there is for the SP16. Not sure how it compares, but the CB clone is definitely taller.
@theshotgunscientists11 ай бұрын
The cb clone will hold 1 3/8 ounces of lead when compressed using a fold crimp. I’ve never been able to do it with an sp16.
