I never grew up playing the Mother/EarthBound series, I just kind of picked it up in my middle school years because I watched Chuggaaconroy play it. I've never even beaten any of the games, haven't even gotten past the first visit to Magicant in EarthBound Beginnings. But Jesus Christ does this song make me FEEL things, listening to this song for the first time made me openly weep, actually bawling my eyes out. God I love these games.

Its so weird. So few games can evoke this sort of emotion from a credits sequence. But if you have played the first two games, the emotion this draws from you is intense. I cant think of another series that can do this with just music.

this song reminds me of the neon genesis evangelion ending (particularly the congratulations scene). idk why, perhaps it has to do with the two songs at the end, "the heady feeling of freedom" and "good, or don't be." actually, now that i think about it, the endings of mother 3 and evangelion are kinda similar.

Tengo muchos motivos para llorar cada vez que es escucho esta canción desde el fin de una bella historia hasta el hecho que esta canción me arrullaba en mis momentos dificiles ya que digamos que tuve una pubertad / adolecencia dificil y mi familia no ayudaba, me da algo de verguenza decir que envidiaba a Lucas en el prologo por tener una familia unida yo no le podia contar nada a mi familia por ser cosas que no entenderian, una vez confie y me defraudo uno de ellos negandome su aceptación al menos durante un tiempo aunque al final ya me acepto tal y como soy. No es un post quejandome solo es el transfondo del huracan de sentimientos que me genera esta melodia ya sea en esta versión remasterizada o su versión original de 16-bits.

​@Godot430 even though Undertale is inspired by the Mother series, I feel like Undertale leaned way into the weird/supernatural territory so, to me, I don't see them as being similar. The Mother series does get weird at points, but the openings of each game are set in normal everyday places first.
