Thanks for watching! I’ll do a follow up review on the 3 dimple lock picks to clarify what they are used for in the near future. It’s hard to sound intelligent 20 minutes into a video review sometimes. And you’re so far in, you can’t stop or turn back lol

I agree with your findings. I have the rakes, and my plan is to skip a couple of lunches each month to add three more Moki picks to my collection until i have them all. When the cases are available again I will be getting at least two of them. One acquires a lot of picks over the years.

The yabende are for the HPC locks for picking the top row on the ones that have them. Examples off the top of my head are Kaba star, West 917, Goal V18

I ordered the explorer set and some single picks from the german lockpick store. I really like how Moki has 9 different profiles (3 for each pin height and 3 for each pick shape) for hooks. I'm really looking forward to the three flat hooks, as those are my favorites so far. They make setting a pin so easy, while some of multipick's round and point shapes get lost in the keyway and somehow become more helpful in picking the warding rather than the pins that I'm targeting 😂

Where did you come from? Finally, I have found one of the few lock pickers who make sense to me. Good description of float picking. Because of you, I have ordered a set of Moki lock picks. Thank you for your most informative videos.

I work with 301 steel or 1.4310 spring steel regularly and the heat treatment or "baking" he did in the document is correct, as long as the heat is consistent you don't even have to do an hour (30min is enough) but 1 hour is what we treat our products in as standard. it loosens the tension like he said and makes it less prone to snapping. after you take them out of the oven or furnace or whatever you used to heat them up let them cool down by air slowly (a table fan is enough) and your good to go

Great review Sandman! I wish I'd have waited now to drop $250 on a set of Multipicks. I won't be disappointed in them I'm sure but those Moki's are nice and priced right for good product. Thanks!

Those 3 high pin count lock Picks credited to Yabende were originally designed by LockPickingMx(Pedro). He made a set for Yabende who credits him in his video titled "KABA Quattro (17 pins) Picked and Gutted". Shame LockPickingMx didn't get the credit he derserves in the Moki document.
@mokislocksport5127 Жыл бұрын
When that document was made I wasnt aware that those designs where introduced by LockpickingMX. Its really a while out there and to my shame, I missed to update it. I reached out to Yabende because I knew those profiles from him and thought they are his design. However, I reached out to both, Yabende and LockpickingMX to clarify that, I will also make sure to give credit more precisely in the near future. Thanks for the comment.

@@mokislocksport5127 don’t sweat it, what I will do is I will make a video in the future on just those three picks, and I can talk about the history of them and who created them and that way people can have a better view of what those three picks are for.

@canadafree2087 Жыл бұрын
If you bake a pick you should get two of the same profile and bake only one of them so you can compare the two. By baking I wonder if they mean hardening and tempering. In the knife world, steel is first hardened under high heat and quick cool down "quenching" and tempering is heating and slow cool down. A knife needs to be hard to hold an edge to last, but too hard and it will snap and not flex. I am no knife maker, but I wonder if that is what this German means by "baking". With CI Ergo tools it is only ergo on one end; maybe with longer tools you can make ergo on both ends? I bought the Ergo bars because of you, however I am more likely to use flats as they pack better in your typical case.
@sandman_locksport Жыл бұрын
I found out today from Christina Palmer to not bake these, because they will lose their strength. She is a scientist, so I trust her on this.
@H.J97 Жыл бұрын
@@sandman_locksport the heat treatment Moki suggested is the correct way to loosen the tension in 301/1.4310 spring steel. though you don't want to quench it but rather let it cool off by itself or under a fan. with the size and thickness of the picks it should take 20 min tops to cool down

These look amazing. What is the length from butt to tip on these? Would they fit in the same roll case.you use for your Jimy Longs?

The green handles are the older one. The black handles are a little better in my opinion. He will be offering both at some point. But black is all that’s available for now.
