Thanks for the skit! As someone who's lived at camp for most of the last decade it was so relatable and funny! Especially the poison ivy, popular kid problems, trying to bail on the first day, scary story tangents, the loner, the competitive kid, and the overly-prepared kid. Yep, seen them all. You may have missed the one who gets lost in the woods, the person trying to light everything on fire, and the kid who runs the opposite direction of the activity every time and you have to go and find them. Honestly, Timmy and the staff using too much lighter fluid are also relatable. Although, is it really too much lighter fluid if you still have eyebrows and the trees aren't ablaze in a burn ban?😂

I'm an INTJ. In school, any meals with meat were highly questionable. The burger patties /bounced/ if you dropped them, like rubber, and I actually dubbed the meatloaf 'mystery meatloaf', a name which spread through the grade pretty well because let's face it, none of us were sure what was going on there. So yeah, meat (and soup, I'd say) are the last foods I'd want 'surprises' in.

I did this 4 week summer program, and the first week was going to a place to do outdoor activities. Kinda like camping but it was a large enclosed area instead of the typical woodlands. They promised us the option to sleep in rooms instead of tents and that we’d go on excursions (to the beach, hiking, etcetera). We stayed in the same mile radius the whole time and didn’t get to stay in rooms. We were saddled up in these things that were like wooden floors with giant tents over them. And I don’t care if there was tarp separating the beds, they weren’t rooms.

When I was a kid I always heard about how wonderful summer camp was, not least of all from my older ENFJ sister. I finally went the last summer I could before I was too old to go. It was incredibly underwhelming. Except at night when my little group of friends and I would stay up late singing loudly and being silly. I'm an INFP but at night my Ne would come out which ended making it an ok experience. But not the wondrous exciting time everyone made it out to be.

FELLOW INFPs, here's my summer camp experience at an INFP length. Or if you want to look into the mind of an INFP as an outsider, here it is. I've only been to summer camp for a cause I was very passionate about, and it wasn't my parents making me go, so I actually enjoy it: I'll make a list of things to pack, thinking of the most unnecessary things because I want to be prepared/entertained. (I'm a passionate list-user ONLY when it comes to fun things, not stuff like school or work). Then I'll get nervous and lose sleep/my appetite the night before, because I'm nervous to see the crush I haven't seen in a year, or I'm afraid camp won't own up to my imagination, etc. When I arrive at the camp, I see my friends and get an INSANE burst of energy and come out of the van dancing and practically yelling at the top of my lungs with excitement. I hug all my friends (which makes it sound like I have a lot, but I really only have a few CLOSE friends at camp) and either have a hard time deciding on which bunk bed to claim, or I have an immediate sense of destiny with one. In the hours of camp, I WILL often have friends to hang out with half of the time, but I'm usually the one to initiate the interactions (which I take personally and get sad about, of course). And the other half of the time, I'm wandering around and sighing to try to get attention. Mind you, NOT extrovert attention, but a deep emotional connection sort of attention. Like hoping someone will see my boredome/loneliness and empathetically come up to me and have a deep conversation. Like THAT'S gonna happen. When a show of hands comes up in camp meetings, I'm hoping the whole time thats I don't get picked. When we sing worship songs, I sing very quietly. And, yes, I have been excited to see the counselor from my first year every time. I remember she was the first person I had ever opened up about my deepest spiritual experiences, and thay had really changed things for me, as I am a lot more open now to becoming vulnerable with others. I'll take my showers in the evening and spend that time thinking about the things my camp crush said thay day, or that embarrassing thing I said. And I'll make random chit-chat or sing obnoxiously with the other girls across stalls. 😂 INTROVERT LIFE HACK: The days are packed with events. The bedtime rules are pretty well-enforced, so it seems like the only time you can unwind is in your bed. But I discovered how to balance the me-time. I sneak into the girls' shower room once everyone is out, and I write in my journal about the day into the late-night hours. Then I'll walk around in the spacious room, thinking or praying. It's perfect, and it's my secret to staying sane. Not that I don't enjoy the day time with friends, but I need a balance. That room is a place where I can actually sing my thoughts softly or talk to myself. (I love writing music, and singing my deep infatuous thoughts is a good outlet for my emotion) And the part I'm sure every INFP waits for: I go home exhausted, ready to take a 5-hour nap before bedtime. Then maybe I stay up half the night writing about the things that happened at camp. So believe it or not, I love camp! And lots of people there think I'm extraverted. Then over fall, winter, and spring, I'll replay those camp moments OVER and OVER in my head. Once I wear out those memories, I start imagining whay could go down the next summer. I am well past wearing out those moments, as I'm in February, so I'm DYING to be back. As an INFP, I accidentally create this imagination universe and almost start to believe in it. Then when I show up to camp and see everyone in real time and not in my imagination after so long, it feels so unreal. I guess that's what sparks my excitement when I get there. Cuz I'm like, EVERYTHING IS REAL!!! Thanks for reading!

@@onceuponahair20 Ahh yeah. Thanks for reading that, haha, I forgot I wrote that! Oh man, that's definitely something I forgot to mention- I hate the outdoor games at camp. Ouch. Yeah I like the aspect of camp where you make connections and reflect on the fun of the day. And music is often a fun way to bond at camp. But yeah, I was thinking recently, wouldn't it be SO COOL if there was such thing as an INFP camp?? I would SO go!!! Except, do you think we would all have clashing views on life and be so passionate about them that we all hate each other? HAHA But yeah I would suggest going to a camp that either you like, or one where there would be chances to talk about your life with a counselor who will listen. I do enjoy the occasional activities at camp where you CAN do those indoorsy activities. There was a time at my camp where we made potholders and painted frames to keep our camp photo in. That was my favorite.
