As an INTP I usually just stop rambling as soon as possible when I realize that people aren't really interested in more information that I think is important for the purpose of the current communication. Then I say something like "ah never mind" with a learned set of voice and body language that has the least awkward effect. It happens pretty frequently, but I have had quite the success in suppressing my urge to clarify very specific Ideas and lines of thought. The window of time for brief conversations is completely dwarfed by the bandwidth of thoughts that we want to convey. (if we are interested in the topic) Not to mention socially acceptable talking speed limits, staying coherent, having to give other people their time to talk etc. We often have to compress a massive collection of thoughts and information we want to express into a one liner, which is very hard to do and it takes time. Being slow to respond, sharing too much information, saying unreliable sh*t because our answer was rushed can easily make people dislike you. and if people dislike you, it's gonna be a pain in the ass every time you have to deal with people. You can easily get fired or rejected if you have no self restraint. I can handle suppressing my urges, but it's really tiring to do. And people still wonder why I spend so much time alone and don't want to interact with them.

Sorry for this poem, if you haven’t got much time or/and don’t give a f**k to read this I can understand, I just wanted to share an experience. Today my teacher sent me to buy her a water bottle at a vending machine near to my classroom. It was a vending machine I’ve never used in my life, yet the only one difference was that you had to just press a button before entering the number. I didn’t know that and after I saw the water bottle not dropping after entering the number, I panicked so much, thinking I had just wasted *my teacher’s* money, but after some help offered by a random student I managed to take that bottle. An hour later, another teacher asks me to take him a water bottle. I thought: “Come on Lux, you can do this for once!” I walked proudly to the vending machine, entered the number, then remembering that I entered it without checking if there were any water bottles left (hint: there were *not* any). After 3 minutes of thinking how I could ask for help to somebody (without actually asking anybody anything relevant) and completely in mental-breakdown, I see the guy who fills the vending machines everyday coming; I firstly thanked my Luck and then explained him what happened. Thank to God he was very kind and handed me a water bottle. All this because I can’t fricking manage to use things I’m not used to deal with.

I think yes, a person can fluctuate between two different personality types. Someone can definitely use certain different functions equally from the start, but as we develop, we learn to use other traits, and who knows what someone's personality can turn into provided they continue challenging themselves and learning new things. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! First dude is istp and is so me!!! 😂😂😂😂 im laughing so hard. That's me right there taking a pic of people i know who asks me to take a photo of them. 😂😂😂 specially my relatives - they really like taking pics and ask me to do it. I give one pic as they requested, turns out they want more. Lol. But on the 2nd (and so on) pic, my artistic side takes over and takes a lot of pictures with different settings, angles, asks them to do different poses. It's like one big photo session is going on right here right now giving them all the photos to last a month of posting. Better to give them thousands of pics now than them asking me to do it again later and another later. 😂 at the same time i'd go, "whose phone is this?? What your phone has ugly- oh wait i just did some set up so now it's a bit ok. Eh. ...You, gimme your phone, yeah this. Your phone camera is good, let's juuusstt- ok go. Now smile and let's get this over with." 😂😂😂 even though my relatives hate that i rush through it all, they always pick me for taking their photos anyway. For strangers tho. Yeah i'll shoot them a lot of photos on the first request and with no complaint whatsoever. Just shoot a lot and bam "here you go." i know people like sooo many photos of them so there. It's different with my relatives because they know i don't wanna be bothered and i can tell them to ask my cousins instead.

Alienlina I know for a fact I may do that if I’m feeling particularly socially anxious that day and don’t want to talk to people, but I haven’t acted like that lately. ~ENFP

Depends on my mood. If I'm feeling good and have some time to spare (rare situation). I'd give them the best pic they ever took! However, if I'm not. I'd just take a quick pic and be on my way. I'd be so rude if they tried to stop me for another take! *ISTP* ..

Maybe the INFJ would not say so much but keep his thoughts to himself. Thoughts like "happy to take this picture for you. i wonder how I can better take this picture to make you feel pleased." But yes, will struggle a bit how to handle someone else's phone. :))

My estj sister actually loves taking pictures. She got my camera once, and when I got it back, I had about 50-70 more pictures. You could've made a movie with it, because each movement was recorded in a picture.
