As an INFP I find myself constantly looking to challenge my worldview. Earlier today I found myself saying "I don't care If my values are completely different in five years. I trust that future me has put lot of effort in building up her belief system. If she believes in things I would consider absurd today there must be a good reason for that." I believe that we should strive to challenge our beliefs by talking to people with opposite worldviews. We should LISTEN to them and even be willing to adjust our own opinions and values if we find them faltering in the face of new information.

Interesting video. I think I discovered MBTI about a year ago. As an INFJ, whenever I talk to a person, I feel like I am not just talking to them, but at the same time I am determining details and collecting information about them as they express themselves and I also tend to unconsciously or subconsciouly mirror their demeanor, tone of voice and words in my interaction with them in order to better understand them or make it easier to interact with them intellectually. I love to talk to people, but at the same time I enjoy being by myself, because by doing so I can organize my thoughts, which in turn helps me to better interact with others. I couldn't live without order, recharging and planning. It's a must in my life. As far as philosophy, for me it's a form of daydreaming. A lot of the times my mind comes up with philosophical ideas right before waking up or just before falling asleep, which is also when my creativity spikes, I don't quite understand why, but it's interesting. Sometimes I feel like there are multiple versions of myself inside myself, and the way I react to stimuli or external information completely depends on how organized, self-controlled or aware of my own flaws I am. For me, the ego is my biggest enemy. I feel like in order to grow as a person and be able to absorb as much constructive criticism as possible I need to overcome myself and my ego every time. Sometimes I realise that when I get pissed, or mad in certain social interactions, it's actually not me the one who gets mad, it's my ego. And then when I overcome it by consciously assessing the situation in my head, I suddenly gain a better understanding and my reality shifts from pissed to glad; from stubborn, to grateful.

This has been a great read. I’m curious if you feel like any of the Quadra’s resonate with you particularly, because of your MBTI type? And also I’d love to hear these philosophical thoughts you have before/after sleep!

That on top of the extremely impressive video editing and direction of the video and the aesthetic has gained you a new subscriber and an admirer from the bottom of his heart.

ISFP here, I love that you used chess in the background while explaining the gamma quadra. Chess embodies it so perfectly imo. In chess there are no right ways to get to tour end goal of winning. So your free to do what you want. But it’s about playing your best and adapting to the opponent. The idea that everybody tries to improve their play in order to reach their goal. Letting everyone play into their strengths by their aproach to play the game. Plus the whole game centers around protecting the monarc. I’m quite sure Magnus Carlsen is an ISFP to, and you might have telled by now that I am a little bit of a chess nerd 😂. Anyways, great video and keep up your good work 👍

A fascinating video tbh. I'm an INFP and i think youre spot on with all the quadrants. It's interesting when i lean more into my Ti i can see that desire for making things as simple as possible and removing the ego/self to find truth. That thought process speaks volumes to me. Also it's interesting seeing how the INFJs quadrant tries to speak & mould the conversation to me but my sincerity antenna are way too fine tuned 😂 (not picking on infjs i just have an infj brother) Id be very interested if you elaborated further on the Delta quadrant. I've been getting more and more interested in xstj thinking as of late. Stj & nfp can be suprisingly similar
@AlburyShaffer4 ай бұрын
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. And I definitely will need to elaborate in further videos on each of the Quadra’s separately and give more details around the types themselves. I defiantly see huge similarities in ENFP and ESTJ for example that most people are, unfortunately, not admitting. So thanks for indicating your interest (:
@KafkaKappa4 ай бұрын
@@AlburyShaffer there's an MBTI KZbinr called Spacey I watch and he made a video on how ISTJ & INFP are types that can get along strangely well & sometimes look a little alike. I think the same idea can span out to all types. Like with your example of ENFP & ESTJ, the ESTJ will appreciate the Ne humour but the Te to back it up, it's like being funny but also a good worker (a duo you wouldn't really expect at first) Good MBTI/Socionics/Enneagram are such rare finds I think & you're a good find, you hear people talking saying something of note or value and then in the same breath they bring up they are Pisces & completely shoot themselves in the foot. (It's somewhat funny to me to see the high effort editing and style to an MBTI video when I'm used to people talking to a camera, I like it as a side note.) Anyways it's not the presentation but the idea that I think is good & holds water. There's a different channel who I'm forgetting the name of that talks about the Delta quadra in a video but I don't think it exactly captures it right (from my point of view) so yeah I surely am interested in your videos

This was a very interesting take on personality types and from my personal observations I'd say it's pretty accurate. However as an ISTP I can't help but feel like everyone else is so selfish and the monarchs honestly make no sense to me... the info you gave is particularly accurate with a few people I know but I just can't believe there's people out in the world who don't care about truth, that's probably the ISTP spitballing but seriously, how can sfps/ntjs even live this way???
@AlburyShaffer8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for this comment because it highlights the exact presuppositions that any type of each Quadra holds! The craziest part is that the types of other Quadra’s would say exactly the same thing about their opposing temperaments!

@@AlburyShaffer I agree! from when I made that comment to now I've consulted with a lot of people and I think I can understand how they see things a bit better, it's still a bit triggering but I guess the point of truth is being able to accept each others a bit better

While the mbti is an interesting tool for self discovery and for understanding people with very different perspectives than oneself, it is still far from complex enough to properly describe individuals. Each type remains an extreme case, like archetypal storybook characters, or separate pieces of each and every one of our psyches, where an understanding of each and every dimension is necessary to gain a true outline of the self. No single type can ever properly describe anyone, because we are always changing in orientation, one way or the other. That being said, I am beyond grateful for the work Jung did in describing the different functions, he has created one of the most imaginative and gripping dichotomies of personality to date.

I really wish people would stop saying that Ti-Fe axis leads to objective morality worldview, while Fi-Te leads to subjective morality worldview. Because that's just demonstrably false. If it was true, no xxFP or xxTJ would ever follow any external religion or a philosophy that champions objective morality (Christianity among many). But there are a lot of "contextual" people who do believe in higher universal principle regardless. At the same time no xxTP or xxFJ would ever subscribe to a religion or a philosophy that champions "believe what you want" agnosticism. And yet there are a lot of "universalist" people who believe in that. I first heard this nonsense idea about objective and subjective morality in one of Michael Pierce's videos and remember how much flak he got for it from all sides. But he refused to budge and kept insisting on this idea because it forms a beautiful and symmetrical scheme. A scheme that is not true in actual reality. Wild claims and generalizations of that kind are one of the reasons I don't believe in Jungian typology.
@AlburyShaffer8 ай бұрын
Thank you for such a thorough comment. I think any absolutist claims about an individual in typology are none sense. Instead, I make these claims to express the “pure” functions or the “pure” Quadra’s. What I mean is, even if you are an Fe-Ti user. You still have a certain degree of Te-Fi, just not in your ego. So people who rely on one axis will have a bent towards one of these dispositions. So yes I agree, not all Fe users are purely universalists and all Fi users are purely individualists.
@tentonmotto67798 ай бұрын
@@AlburyShaffer I enjoyed the style and concise language of your video, even if I don't beleive in the typology itself. So, props for that, you convey information well. Regarding the topic of conscious and unconscious functions, it is also one of the reasons I am not into typology. MBTI in particular. Because after researching it more and more I found out that all people use all "functions" (a term itself a can of worms but it can wait). Not sure how people who actually believe in typology and types can say with a straight face that they don't have access to half of human experience. How they use either Se or Si, Te or Ti but never both. When they actually kind of do use both all the time. At least Socionics, despite my disagreements with it, understands that each "function" is integral. It makes a mistake by assigning them to conscious or unconscious since all of them are simultaneously conscious and unconscious. And even a bigger, more fundamental mistake by assuming that "functions" are real. But it is better than classic MBTI, which is basically a cognitive prison of confirmation bias. Anyway, I'd love to have a discussion on this, if you are willing.
@AlburyShaffer8 ай бұрын
@@tentonmotto6779thank you, I appreciate your compliments. And yes, im 100% in agreement. All humans have access to all possible human experience. My position is just that some people rely on certain experiences or “processes” more, or at least in different ways/contexts. I’m working on a video regarding what exactly “functions” are, in more realistic terms, so if that’s something you’re interested in please keep your eyes out. kind of a rookie typology mistake, typology is about inclinations and what comes naturally to a person, it doesn't exlude you from anything else though. I might be an intj and therefore a "'monarch'' type but that doesn't keep me from entertaining ideas and worldviews that are completely foreign to me.
@AlburyShaffer8 ай бұрын
@@ZTRCTGuy 100% agree. Although the rookie comment was unnecessary😂 As an INTJ I’m sure you can appreciate how explaining in every video the fundamentals of typology, like how “everyone can do everything” as I’ve mentioned in other videos if you’ve seen them, is just not practical. When talking about advanced theories I find it most helpful to explain the them in their purest form since at this level we can all acknowledge no one is a stereotype.
