This is what I live for.... yes for my young black soldiers and when I see Steve being a beacon of hope and inspiration to young black kids who need direction... I’m 18 and I ha e only seen the good parts of my dad even though times get tough he has still stood tall for what he believes in and is willing to teach his children (me and 7 others) how to go through life make the most of the time you have and most importantly how to RESPECT yourself and other. He is my role model I won’t think twice about walking in his footsteps even though there have been tough time when he wants to give it all up he kept going so we would be safe when his time comes. I don’t really have many idols but he is the one that shoot high above the rest both him and my mum have raised us all to be better people than we could be and to push the extra bit further to achieve complete greatness. #loveyourfather

I was and am truly blessed to have my father and other men to guide me. It’s part of why I took on mentoring the son of one my friends. I understand what can happen. This kid is smart, funny and absolutely loves the piano. At his piano recital, I was front row with his mom listening to him playing the entertainer at 5 years old with people in their teens in the show as well. He may not be biologically or legally mine, but he’ll always be my boy. I promised him I would always be there for important moments. I saw him graduate kindergarten this year and I was so proud of him. Sitting in tiny chairs killing my back with my boy at the microphone saying what he’s thankful for. He said, “I’m thankful for my daddy Keith.” If I can say one thing to any man who’s a father. Don’t ever leave your kids. They will be destroyed in ways you cannot imagine. Then other men have to come and rebuild the shattered beauty that was their life and trust.
