There's 6,000 hospitals in the U.S. There's absolutely no guarantee they will ever use the drug, and even if they did it's very likely that better and/or cheaper drugs will come out by then. That money would be better spent on other forms of medicine that are way more common.

Same here, I've had seizures and symptoms like all of these yet they never once tool me to hospital or called an ambulance, despite it obviously being very weird for someone to collapse and not be able to move or speak or only the tiniest bits sometimes, and with great effort and minutes gaps, thankfully I've learnt to deal with it - as in literally made a deal with it, because it's all spiritual I'm afraid, half of you is dead things and the other half carry everything from all your ancestors experiences and skills like your muscles remember things when you train physically. Think of it like anti venom- there are few uses for it and outside of states where it's needed semi-routinely, there is a near zero percent chance that it would ever get used. Since this brain eating amoeba is so insanely rare, I'm not shocked at all that the drug isn't common stock. But the good news is the makers of the drug will clearly go above and beyond to get it where it's needed. I've never heard of an exec jumping in his car in pjs to get a drug where it needs to go. First heard of this four or five years ago, when a 12 year old boy in Florida, went swimming in a pond beside his house. Same deal--excruciating headache, vomiting, fever, death. Really scary. Good to learn, that some people do survive this, having some kind of immunity to it. That's key. Find why some don't get sick, and bottle it up. Easier said than done. As the mother of a seven year old boy, who loves to swim, this is enough to keep us all out of any water, period. 😳❌❌

Please read. I swam and caught something just as bad! Btw. He didn't have immunity to it. They had the right medicine at the right time. Bacterial Meningitis is just as bad and more common. I had it 3 years ago. Arrived at hospital 40 degrees celsius Written on my hand for them to see....attatched to my lifeless body.... They put me straight into ICU. When I summoned the strength to talk. I asked if I would survive. The nurse and doctors were rushing around my room. A nurse stopped and said ''We are all doing our best!'' I was hoping for better. But as I had no one close. Family living miles away. I realised while laying there. It didn't really matter for me (I almost felt like a waste of time)I had a very low chance of survival (I had also thought I could tough it out with some Panadol - Aust* (Acetamophin - US*).... Well I'm alive now and thankful for all the work the doctors did tot keep me going and no amputations! I do what I can to help now. I live every dayy to the max. ***** I did catch meningitis and other. I just made it to hopsital ... I was very lucky there were specialists there at the time I was rushed to ICU and only just survived it. It was Bacterial Meningitis! I was in a very bad way. I want people to be aware. This is a big and current problem. But it can be avoided by not swimming in the same place as turtle for example! try not to let water into your nose while swimming in fresh water. Another friend just caught Meningacoccal last week! and that is also a very bad one (Amputations, Coma, fatal). He had multiple organ failure at school and was rushed to hospital. Not much asinine commenting. Just reality mate. This is real life. I am lucky to be alive. Previous patients weren't so lucky. (BTW do you need me to write down every case?) It is very important people know the dangers of these diseases (They are related!) Never know, One of my comments might save a life and that's one life more than it might have been.
