This is bonkers to see the line-ups. A 22 year old John Terry on the Chelsea bench. A 26 year old Robbie Fowler on the Leeds bench. Both of them now retired, and yet there's Milly getting a goal and still playing in 2022 and playing like an absolute beast. James Milner deserves so much more credit, he's incredible.

I used to play football with Milner when we were kids, when he was in our team we’d win like 10-0 , and when he was in the other team we’d lose by 10 goals. He was incredible, machine.

@@bardofr I didn’t play pro-football, and it was more of a kick about with some boys than anything. We played against these lads who were friends with Milner, and at the time all we knew about him is that one day he’ll be playing for Leeds.

I remember this match where Milner announced himself to the footballing world. Shame the club was in dire straits and had to sell him the moment a decent offer came in for him. He could have had an amazing impact on his boyhood club had they been able to stay up and remain competitive.

Might happen yet. He’s out of contract with Liverpool next year and he’d be a perfect utility man to back up Philips with his versatility plus add a lot of maturity to a youngish squad lacking PL experience.

@@andyd6338 they're all decent on the ground & playing out but as for marking and staying with runners coming onto crosses they're terrible. Constantly caught ball watching but that's defending in modern football. Proper defending is being legislated out of the game. Be banning heading soon,, then tackling, then running. It'll end up like that walking football on the advert but at least Harry maguire will have a chance to shine then

Maybe not as a winger anymore but certainly in central midfield where his extensive PL experience could pay off. Be a great utility man to back up Philips, Dallas and he’s out of contract next year. Plus nice for the fans to see him finish his career here.

By appointing Ten Haag, Man United decided to be more like Man City in the way their first team plays football. By appointing Ralf, they wanted their club to play a pressing style, like Liverpool (did) does. . They also hope that by giving Ten Haag control, he would shape the footballing operations of the club in his mould...a bit like how Marcelo accomplished at Leeds'. Personally, I would have signed up James Milner and given him the keys to the club as a player who doubles up as a member of the coaching staff/think-tank. Thus, hitting three birds with one stone in the process..

Team spirit became tottaly broken as the Leeds players saw so many of thier top players sold and the players left also knew that they would be sold at some point, the financial situation got so bad at Leeds some times the Leeds players heard about other players leaving through the news/media and not the club,
