He was always a simple man who played because he loved to play. Glad to hear he's off doing something he enjoys and not putting himself through hell being a manager. I remember once when he said if football didn't work, he'd go back to bricklaying, and he sounded serious.

This is my leeds team, as good as bielsa and the team are doing i grew up with the O'Leary team, could still name the whole squad with no problem, watching this team is still the best moments in football ive experienced

The team you grow up with... you think that they are the team. But teams change. Just look at Burns in there. Nothing against him but he wasn't important. Same with the team today. There are players in there that are massive, and others that don't matter.

Best Australian? Sorry Tim Cahill. 4 world cups - first and second goalscorer for Australia in a world cup. Fantastic 8 years for Everton. Regularly double figures for Everton in a side rarely out of the top 6. Always scored against the big clubs - utd, Liverpool, arsenal, Chelsea, City - all for less than 2 million - absolute bargain.

@@garethfieldstead7547 There was a reason he cost less than 2 million. Technically he was vastly inferior to Kewell and Viduka but no one can fault his application, determination and work ethic. He definitely overachieved, whereas Kewell could have achieved so much more were it not for injuries.

I remember this as if it were yesterday. I think this team had if I’m not mistaken 4 Ozzie’s in its side, a few times having 3 on the pitch in a game. Man, thinking back them’s we’re exciting times when the sky was the limit and anything was possible! P.s Twice mina’s beauty rules okay?! I was sat watching in a pub in Southport watching the game. It was packed with Liverpool fans congratulating themselves on how great they were and then along came Marc Viduka and reduced them all to tears I absolutely loved it . MOT forever

For 3 years under Bielsa, Leeds played the best and most attacking football in Britain.( Well maybe Man City were a bit better) They were a joy to watch and most people had them as their 2nd team.

Viduka was one of the most technically gifted strikers in the world. People were comparing him to Van Basten his first season at Leeds. Different level to Bamford.

Viduka was being talked about as being a target of AC Milan, Man Utd and Real Madrid at the time... that is how good he was. Viduka was all but gone to AC Milan but Leeds didn't want to sell him even though it would have been for a huge amount at the time. Viduka also had talks with Man Utd but loved living in Leeds too much so didn't end up going there.
