More Scholes than Becks. Scholes was always looking for the strikers with his passes, so does Thwaites, and he prefers finding the no. 9 rather than inside forwards, just like Scholes. And he tries to find them really quick, he doesn’t waste time, if he sees the angle, he goes for the pass. Plus the left foot, Scholes had range with his left too, Becks not so much.
@andrew13yt22 күн бұрын
@@andreichivu8892 Agreed but has Becks dead ball delivery with it. Where would he play in a 3-4-2-1 if he was ready for it though? I look at what Amorim wants to do and I don't see how you can play just one Ugarte type and one flair player in a 2 man midfield against teams with a high pressing high energy 3 man midfield in the Premier League.
@andreichivu889222 күн бұрын
@ He can play next to Ugarte or even further up the field. Remember, Scholes scored 150+ goals in his career, he was more of an attacking midfielder rather than a deep lying one. But if he plays deeper he has the ability to both distribute the ball well - Ugarte does it too but he would be a better passer than Ugarte -, but also to carry it further up the pitch. I’ve noticed he has that Xavi move where he pirouettes with the ball around the opponent which is a good way to lose the first man. Plus, you don’t develop a player just for one system or one manager.

Jim Thwaites - Passing range is very impressive. - silky movements and progression - just turned 17 - can see the small nuances of Paul scholes. This is my feeling with a lot of our prospects- physically I am not sure how it would translate to the first team. I feel if you have to make it at the top level - you have to be ridiculously good if you aren’t physically there. Hopefully Jim Thwaites can grow the next couple of years to really determine whether they can make it. I’d put him at the same bracket as Lacey and Amass. Ibraghimov although has the same height is physically gifted in terms of engine and athleticism.

Proper player. Can tell by the first touch and the way he strikes the ball. We have to let go of the the players that don't have the technical ability and give him a chance. These are the type of players that help you win titles on a consistent basis. Scholes, Kroos, Xavi, Modric types.

He's good but he doesn't look special. For me, he hasn't shown the creativity to be a special talent. He can spread the play but lacks a killer through ball. He reminds me of James Ward Prowse as opposed to Scholes. Scholes was probably England's greatest midfielder so you need to be really special and I just don't see it in him. Having said that, he is playing against players a couple of years older than him so he clearly has talent. Being compared to Ward Prowse isn't an insult as he has been a quality premier league midfielder for years.
