Not even just a complete striker, dude could play absolutely everywhere on the pitch, because he had everything. Apparently he was even a really good GK in practice too. Wasnt particularly fast, but because he was so strong and coupled with his unmatched balance, he just never got run down by anyone. He was a leader, a captain, could dribble, shoot, free kicks, link up, hold up, long passes, line-breaking passes, tackles and overall defensive work, stamina, headers, finesse chips, halfway-line shots, man i could go on and on mentioning every attribute a football player could have, he has them all. Unbelievable player, and super underrated.

He's probably one of the most underrated strikers ever. When he was really young he looked like the English R9 with his brute strength, driving pace and dribbling but he was also creative, technical and visionary like a Bergkamp type forward and was an intelligent and hardworking presser. A very complete forward.

Rooney, a true great. I'm 33 now. At 15, in 2006 , I was over the moon. My team had Rooney and Ronaldo and of the two I genuinely believed then that the former will go on to achieve the things the latter actually accomplished. Despite the far fewer accolades and accomplishments- what Rooney bought to Football was genuine passion and a fabulous srray of skills ranging from outrageous lobs to subtle flicks and a truck load of the Common man's struggles. No superhuman discipline or an unnatural desperation to be the best. Loved him.
