$160 Best Pakistan Hotel in Hunza Valley 🇵🇰

How much would you pay for friendly staff, delicious dinners, and the best view of the Hunza Valley? We really enjoyed our stay at The Eagle’s Nest Hotel! The staff was kid-friendly and taught our kids how to play cricket. Even after living in Chennai, India, for two years, this was the first time anyone offered to teach our kids how to throw and hit like real cricket players. The kids loved this, and it was definitely a highlight for them.
Another highlight was watching the sunset over Nothern Pakistan’s Hunza Valley. The whole Gilgit-Baltistan area has surprised us with its beautiful rock cliffs, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, rivers, and abundant fruit trees. If you visit Gilgit, be sure to catch the sunrise and sunset each day. You will not regret it! Also, if you are in Gilgit, be sure to have dinner at the Eagle’s Nest because the dinners are delicious (we recommend: the homemade soup, fresh spring rolls, fish, bread, and the mutton). Don’t forget to pick up snacks at the local Tuck Shops (Is that a play on “truck stops” and “tuk tuks”?).

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, seven years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. Jonathan and Kelly what a wonderful family y'all. Love the kids, especially Forest. For a 3-year-old he is incredibly co-operative and love the way Seder and Granite (Hope I spelled them right) are so wonderfully adventurous and try everything. As a resident of south-east of US, I find that it is so rare for the parents here to allow any adventure to their children. I am sure they are growing to be wonderful people. Pakistan is a hidden gem for tourism, people are genuinely decent, and not just because they want your tourist dollars, remember, the only expensive thing is renting a house or a hotel room... everything else is cheap cheap cheap... excellent food but cheap, since Pakistan is a large agricultural country. $160 a night for that view, with all the modern comforts is so well worth it.

Thanks, Omair K. Granite and Cedar were both born in Alaska, so the outdoor names made a lot of sense. Forest's name was basically a blend of nature. :-)
