A very soothing sounding diesel engine to sleep 💤😴 with!

From cold (not on pre-heat like those units normally are in standby) to nominal load and back to off straight away without idling for several minutes to dissipate the built-up heat through coolant flow and engine oil. Potential clients, good luck with your purchase.

Yes, large generators like these usually stay on for 10-30 mins after power is restored just for the reason you describe. However I don't really see a problem with them doing it for such a short time and only once. It's not like they're doing this multiple times, over and over which would absolutely cause unnecessary wear.

SpaceMountainLarry Especially MTU engines hate that (coolant jackets tend to crack). We had 4 MTUs on our boat during my navy time (4500 hp each though) and from a preheated engine were only allowed +/-100 rpm every 5 minutes, every 3 minutes on nominal temperature. We managed to kill 2 engines during an emergency stop from 39 knots. They absolutely do not like that.

Oh dear, using imperial measuring parameters for a metric engine.... The OEM would be most upset. Pressure = Bar or Kpa Temperature = Celcius

That’s something else you guys don’t muck around with words you let the generators do all the talking!
