Just bought the new 4k 4 led Benq ht 4550i..for $2999.00 with a $200.00 rebate review on Projector Reviews..The Picture is ,,Amazing with great skin tones..on my 150" dalite matte white..I am a disabled veteran and that is all I can afford..My friends think it is great in my 16 ft wide trailor..with JBL towers surrounds and 4 subs bought cheap..less Than $5000.00 in total..very happy and grateful for what I have...

Masking with a projector at home can be a very cheap way of upgrading your image. I just use black cotton fabric and it's great.

Idea for next year, a room that has a 98" TV and a 120" UST. It would be great to see them side by side in a room that has windows with operable blinds. (Replicating a living room space) At 13:00 he said a micro-perf ALR screen? It would be great to see that in use in this hypothetical room. :)

I did not have the opportunity to participate in it or the Room EQ comparison. Other shared that SVS Ultras and the MartinLogan B100 were at the top of the peoples choice during the speaker comparison. I did participate in the subwoofer comparison so I will have a video on it.

Just an idea for 2024. Allow companies to showcase home theater setups for the average Joe. Don’t get me wrong…I love the expensive stuff too but having various companies show off their entry to mid level products setup in a mock living room open floor plan, etc. would be cool too. This gives an opportunity to see what products/ideas can work in a living room vs. dedicated theater.

We don’t have any say in what a brand brings to the show for their room. The Perlisten room is what they are setting up for CEDIA so it’s their top end showing what is possible. On the other end, SVS chose to bring their affordable Prime Pinnacle series to show what is possible on a budget. We invited Monoprice (super affordable) but they declined to come. I invited Klipsch saying it would be great if they brought their new reference Premiere subwoofers, and Reference Premiere speakers.

Oh Seymour…the whole point of 4-way masking is that you can maximize height and width for any aspect ratio. A true 4-way masking screen goes wide with top bottom masks for scope, but then retracts the top and bottom masks so that the image height in narrower aspect ratios is taller than the height when in scope mode. It moves the side masks in to create a taller 16:9 or 1:85 or IMAX shaped image. Putting fixed side masks so that you can watch a tiny 4:3, 16:9, 1:85, IMAX, or 2: 35 image inside a larger 16:9 screen? Whaaa…? 🤦‍♂️

But props for the tunable white bias light. Room colors can render an otherwise accurate 6500 white as too cool or too warm. ‘Tuning’ to compensate is a great idea.

I had a friend visit your Mwave show. He and I want to say a few things. I'm not a fan of projectors, for obvious reasons. They are too expensive, and take extra resources, time and set-up. The next issue that turns me off is you need a house or a housing situation where neighbors won't be bothered. This alone will never allow the majority to have a home theater, much less be able to afford it in this more socialist-inflation run current economy in 2023. Last and most obvious to those who are awake, especially as believers, is the majority of movies in the last 10 to 15 years have increasingly been indoctrinated and influenced with woke marxist/socialist/LGBTQIA+ identity politics. This includes Disney and Marvel to name a few. We simply should never look the other way, because this wrongful propaganda is going after the very young, all the way into all fabrics of our society. So, at this point, even if I could afford a housing situation with a home theater, I would refuse to do so for all of the above. No offense to anyone here, but we simply must stop pretending none of this is happening or affecting the world, and is being done deceitfully and intentionally.
