@@Youthman When you spotlight theater rooms purpose built like this one, that are clearly in multi-million dollar homes, don't you think you should be upfront with people and have a disclaimer like "this is a rich man, you won't be getting any of these toys. they are nice but completely unrealistic for you, the normal person that works for a living."
@Youthman Жыл бұрын
I hate to say it, but that’s a really dumb and judgmental comment. I think it’s obvious to everyone watching this video that this is a very high end home theater. The purpose of My Home Theater tours is to provide inspiration. When you view a home theater like this, you still get ideas that you can incorporate into your own home theater regardless of your budget. For example, seeing how Mike has access behind, his speakers and equipment, rack is genius and anyone can use that idea in their theater build without having a multi million dollar home.
@frosted1030 Жыл бұрын
@@Youthman "The purpose of My Home Theater tours is to provide inspiration." Who funds the "inspiration" when someone covits these toys? Hmm? The promise that you can somehow make a home theater to the vast majority is a pipe dream. Most people can't afford a $400 emergency. Think next time.
@Youthman Жыл бұрын
Trust me I get it because I was that person that couldn’t afford a $400 emergency. For the first 12 years of our marriage, we were paycheck to paycheck and had $50,000 in consumer debt from credit cards, student loan and two vehicles). Jessica and I decided we were tired of being broke so we cut up our credit cards and made a decision to only pay cash for purchases. If we didn’t have the money, we didn’t buy it. I also started a home business building websites to earn extra income to begin paying off debt. It took us six LONG YEARS of no vacations, sacrifice and me working two jobs (and we had 4 children to provide for). After many years of hard work, sacrifice, and determination, we are now debt-free, (other than our home). So yes, I absolutely will continue to inspire people who want to build a home theater. I have seen time and time again how people get creative with a very small budget through DIY, buying used gear, finding KILLER Youthman Deals etc. you don’t have to have a super high-end home theater to create a enjoyable experience.

A huge part of what makes the audio experience is the room. I'm starting to understand that more and more as I listen to systems in different locations. Even if you don't agree his equipment is endgame, his room definitely is. The owner looks back and can't even think of anything he would change. That room is a masterpiece, built from the ground up.

"Budget" does vary on the amount of disposable income we all have. Not everything in his system would be considered budget (Kaleidescape, Sony Projector, and Emotiva RMC-1 processor). But things like his speakers, racks, digital movie displays and amplifiers would fit within most people's budget if they are building a dedicated theater room of this scale.

Beautiful home, incredible home theater setup. Thanks for sharing! I'm drooling over here, watching this neatly built theater setup. Man, I wish I could experience that beautifully crafted home cinema setup. This guy is so chill and humble. That's the kind of person I'd love to be friends with. You could never tell he's that wealthy by just chatting with him. Love it. Though I would never spend that much money on something like this, I do respect the fact that some people will not hold back to realize their dreams. Looks like his wife helped him quite a bit too! My wife and I bough a home a few years ago (15 year loan, paid for in less than 4 years - we love living completely debt free, and aim to have no less than a year's worth of expenses in our savings. Thank you Lord!). The home happened to come with a 120" projector screen installed in one of the (fully finished) basement walls. So I simply bought a 300 dollar 1080p 60Hz projector at Amazon, a Logitech 5.1 Dolby THX set of speakers for another 300 bucks, plus three 100 dollar black leather recliner seats (we're a family of three). I run a 20 dollar Chromecast with Google TV via HDMI and it works great. The Sub on that Logitech system is phenomenal. I could have spent way more, sure, but we hardly ever use our home theater. I have spend significantly more on our living room TV setup, which is our main entertainment center. A 65" 120Hz 4K TV, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and my gaming PC sporting an RTX 4090. Sound system is a 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus system HDMI ARC. It's all entry level and low budget but I absolutely love what we've got and make good use of it. ♥️

Wow $60k for the projector alone! That's some next level sheat right there. Awesome setup but I think that room cost more than my house!

Yes, it's an expensive projector but he didn't spend anywhere near that. But when you have a 206" image, you simply cannot use your standard Epson or JVC projector. They simply are not bright enough at that size.

That is what you call a home cinema, not theater. 😂 btw Control4 updates can be done remotely so the dealer/ programmer doesn’t always have to physically be on site.

Apart from being an engineer, he also comes from a VERY wealthy family. I think it's important to point that out. There's an entire layer of stress missing when you're not from a poverty stricken minority, single parent home with zero financial life rafts to rescue you if things go bad. So he's able to take more risks, which is massive.

Do you find by fitting the speakers that already have an enclosure into another box packed with foam changes the sound

This is my dream audio setup. DIY SG is perfect for that theater sound. This place probably sounds better than 99% of commercial theaters.

I’m not even envious of this lol. It’s extremely beautiful, and I know he’s super proud to have anyone over for a movie. I certainly would be. But holy crap, I would obsess over every piece of dust, every pet hair that somehow makes it way in, the carpet, taking great care of that room would drive me insane
