@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Quadcopters And Airguns I believe it. I think those motors are way higher quality than these dys motors. Funny how there seems to be this “wall” we’re all hitting around 160 mph
@quadcoptersandairguns12836 жыл бұрын
GC Cannonball the dys motors are great motors but not up to pair with the quality of the Hyperlite stuff.. only problem I have is every now and then is melts the xt60 solder if I do a 4 or so seconds run and then another right behind it the xt60 will desolder every time... it's when I forget to not do another pass right after I just did one. No desyncs with the Wraiths and so far everything is holding up perfect.. I did cook a motor because I was being stupid and threw on a set of 5152 triblade and instasmoked motor 1 on Betaflight as soon as I gave a quick bump to see what the punch out LOS looked like bam buh byez to that motor lol
@quadcoptersandairguns12836 жыл бұрын
GC Cannonball and yeah 160mph is about it as,of right now.. I have tried a,few builds and 155 to 160 is pretty much it it's like a wall and as of current tech I have no idea how to get past it without going adding cells and cooking stuff. I honestly think it's prop related because I do notice high KV 6s flattens the pitch slap outta any prop out there as of now.. I think a prop that will resist flatting the pitch out on high KV 6s builds and we will only then climb that wall that's my opinion.
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Quadcopters And Airguns hmm interesting, what gauge wire are you using to the lipos pads. I haven’t had any issues on 14, but my runs stay around 2-3 seconds max with 20-30 seconds cool down in between passes
@quadcoptersandairguns12836 жыл бұрын
GC Cannonball running 14ga, so long as I give a cool down it's fine.. if I do a pass and turn around and run again with no cool down it's almost 100% desoldering will happen... my test passes are running over 500 meters and that is likely why as you stated a,much shorter distance.. I'm at full throttle for a,good bit longer.. it's a pain in the ass and desoldered connector at 140 150mph is NO FRIENDLY to frame arms lol...

You can throttle curve high KV motors to work on 6s. I'm not sure that's what he's doing here or not. If you want them to perform at 1/2 the KV then you chop the top 1/2 the throttle off. I'm still skeptical that it's a "good" way of doing things though.

A normal racing quad is around 100-150$, assuming you build it yourself. The goggles can range from 100-500$, batteries are 25$ each, and you need a lipo charger which are 50-60$, and a transmitter which is around 100$. A 6s build like this will cost way more for the quad, and you will need to have some pretty damn good soldering skills to solder it. Look up some videos and guides on building quads.(btw quad=quadcopter)

Watching you fly I don’t understand how your flying forward with zero input in forward pitch. Either I can’t see you push the stick forward and applying throttle. If your not applying forward pitch how do you tune the quad to fly like this
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Blake Westergaard it’s a very small input on the pitch stick. Since there is no stabilization in acro mode, once the quad is in forward flight there is no need to keep the pitch stick forward
@tommytwotone85106 жыл бұрын
Awesome, would a super capacitor between the batt and quad help with the sag? Obvious trade off with weight but would be curious to see what the right cap might do. If you have the batt and amperage telemetry around the max draw curves I could run some sims.
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Tom Hurst I’ve never heard of capacitors being used for that. I am no expert at all but I just understood the cap is there to absorb and deal with any voltage spikes
@tommytwotone85106 жыл бұрын
The super caps are different. They can provide a higher output than most if not all batteries but for a very short time. So during heavy accel / load the initial power would come from the super cap keeping the battery from sagging to whatever degree one sets it up for. (short answer) There's bound to be some good videos floating around. I'd be happy to play with some numbers. Would need voltage start, lowest, recovery and the matching values for the current to see if it would be worth it. I do know they are being used in everything from handheld devices (to extend the battery run-time by compensating for the sag which would normally cause the battery to go below minimums.) to shipping port cranes to ease the draw on the power grid.

Thinking maybe my 130+mph 6s floss runs with 5552x3 on 2700kv avenger and 2607.5 2600kv zmx took em to the point of no return or when I get em 180f+ at times though they dont puff 😬 Though usually they get fairly warm but not burning hot status but will if I try to sustain several secs wide open like you did even when I let it rest between passes. Your lipos get fairly hot at times? I also fly these quads everyday on 4s and 5 and 6s like you do so wanna figure out how your not sagging nearly at all or have 25.8v on osd and even if 0.6v high still sustaining a higher voltage under full load than me since I hit 18v with ease if I want or if I dont rather😤
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
charles hodge charging it to 4.4 volts. And I also charge it at 8 amps which will create some internal heat in the battery and reduce IR which will give you less sag

Oswalds Reef sure they do! You can build anything with any mix of components. I think in general the power:weight ratio is better in a 5” than a 4” so probably why it’s not very popular

How do you displaying the voltage on your FPV image? Your setup don't have an OSD. How I can displying the voltage and the current? I get the same setup with lower kV Motors ; )
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Erol Ryant depends on what fpv camera you have. Most will have a “vbat” pin that you solder directly to the + on the 4in1 esc or pdb and that will display the voltage on your feed but it has to be a camera with osd

Interesting. I just realized on your stick movements that you didn't have to pitch down when you punched the collective. Does the flight control software (not sure what this hobby calls it) adjust things like that for you?
@gabbychavesracing244 жыл бұрын
EbonySeraphim it’s not a software adjustment, (though probably it can be done, not sure) it’s just the “flight mode” when you are full manual flight mode, you don’t need to make many inputs if any at all once to are in forward flight. There is some input however the rates are quite sensitive so it may not be too apparent

Butterflight lol i have not try in 6s now but only in 4s with the apc prop with 3 blades its perfectly fine but with the biblade i dont know why its so bad. I have test also the raceflight same things weird. My motors are horus 2506 2600kv ;)
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
FAT DAN so many variables it’s hard to say what could be the cause. I’d start by soft mounting the FC if not already. Make sure nothing is touching the gyro. Then see that you don’t have a motor that’s noisy that could be causing the issue. After that play with TPA mostly, try increasing it and maybe lower yaw P. Mine is on stock settings on RF 455 fw

Why are your prop configuration running the other way around than "normal"?
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Eirik Larsson it’s just preference for racing. It helps to “bounce of” gates and things rather then be sucked in. Also keeps the fpv lens clean if you go on the grass with the motors on
@Flaps846 жыл бұрын
GC Cannonball Ahhh, I'll see. That gave perfect sence; thanks 😀 I guess there is no changes to do in Cleanflight/Betaflight. The only thing is to solder motor wires "reversed" or reverse them in ESC flash tool like BlHeliSuite?
@gabbychavesracing246 жыл бұрын
Eirik Larsson easy way is to reverse via blheli suite. You can also alter motor wire like you said. But you MUST click and turn on the “motor direction is reversed” tab. Under configuration in betaflight. This will only work in betaflight 3.2 or newer. For anything older you must go and do a CLI command line. If you don’t as soon as your arm, your quad will go to the moon haha
