Without short circuit protection testing, your review is worth very little

@@hamradiotube Sorry Mike that you consider my comment STUPID. I believe that the most serious problem you could encounter with a battery etc. would be a short circuit. I'd like to be sure that in that case, the BMS would immediately disconnect and then later reset.

@@hamradiotube Please note Mike, I did not use the term USELESS. I feel it not as good as it could be.

@@andrewb9276 if you have to rely on short circuit protection, built into the battery, you’re doing it wrong. You should always have an in-line fuse.

Good review, Mike. There might be a little typo on their BMS spec sheet... ? @3:28 "Charging Low Temperature Protection" was 32±41°F... lol - that's quite a range (-9°F to 73°F). Maybe they meant 0.4°F?

Put a piece of all thread into those terminals, and then use the appropriate washers and nuts, and do it "Correctly" LoL
@jamesemery12 ай бұрын
you should torque the terminals to 4nm to make sure you have a good connection a poor connection can generate a lot of heat due to high resistance

Great video thank you. I’m curious about this battery because the sizing is killer. Those bolts are M8 which means a 13mm socket or wrench. If you start living that M8 life you can just keep a 13mm at the ready! Using a Philips for anything can be pretty bogus YMMV
@lifetech1012 ай бұрын
Seems like a nice battery. I'm not convinced it is capable of 15,000 cycles. That number seems kind of high as it is 3x higher than most quality lifepo4 batteries.

Mike what do you use to charge a battery this size. Your gonna make me spend my money lol
@@hamradiotube how long do you think it would take to charge with the 20 amp charger, assuming you drew it down fairly far?
@hamradiotubeАй бұрын
@@martinunger9545 A simple formula would be to divide the capacity of the battery, Ah, by the current you are putting into the battery from the charger in Amps. So if you had a totally depleted 100Ah battery and were charging with 20 amps, 100/20 is 5 hours.
