agreed, i used to provide backstage catering in Boston for the summer season on the Commons. some of the bands, and headliners, were totally spoiled idiots towards everyone. others are a pleasure to serve. Whitney Houston, UB-40, and Cyndi Lauper come to mind. so gracious and appreciative, WIllie Nelson band too. i miss it. ☮

That is a thing, often on a studio situation redoing a part for someone else, and I don't always think about it but it does come up enough to be also more work opportunities. Timing and other schedules and things can make that happen a lot. A sound guy was talking to me about that awhile back, about something to do, and it just slipped my mind for awhile. It wasn't something in that instant, but there was a whole bunch of things he was thinking about. occasionally I run across a person more naturally skilled in entrepreneurship, and some of it seeps into my brain, like this which is helpful, to keep in mind. This mentoring that you do without really even thinking about, is what is so wonderful and amazing. 💕💖

I saw the tour is coming to Indianapolis soon. Though Everwise Amphitheater is a nice venue, if you have time and can gain access, there's another Live Nation facility nearby called Murat Theatre at Old National Centre. It's a very old theatre, and well worth touring. I LOVE your videos! They reflect everything I'd love about touring.

One aspect of the “traveling show” that I still wonder about is the end-of-show load-out (per Jackson Brown song fame), seeing the two semis of parked backend to the stage docks, got me thinking about the entire tour logistics and in particular, about the post-show break-down and load/travel/arrive/sent-up, rinse and repeat?

Hi Leland! Is it harder to play in this heat, with your fingers sweaty? Do you have a protocol, like baby powder? Or hand cream? Or are you just used to it because of the years of experience and being an absolute pro? I’m just learning bass at 51 yrs old (better late than never?) and when it gets hot, my progress goes out the window due to sticky fingers (not the great Stones album) and it feels so much more difficult to play. D’addario are not my favourite guitar strings let alone saxophone reeds. Rico Royals are the best but plastic reeds are much better now and they last forever! It looks hotter there than a Republican Rally in Pennsylvania!
