I always thought it was crazy when I’d visit my great grandmother as a child and she talked about her life. The world changed so much over the 100 years she was alive. She passed in 2001.

@@catherinemcclelland7664 office work can be hard too. My job is all physical and that's a good thing. Keeps me in shape. Paid to go to the gym basically. Good for the heart too. But the American dream has and always will require a lot of hard work and dedication in giving back to the economy. That simply has not changed. Unless one has wealthy parents. Really, not much as changed. I put in a lot of hours to make what I make. I'm still trying to figure my life out though. At least I managed to buy a home and have a 401(k).

What do you mean? It's common knowledge and has been with humanity across the Globe since recorded time... What isn't common knowledge is how much European practices influenced slavery and racial inequality. People view like it was only an American problem, when in fact, Europeans who moved to America also brought with them some unsavory practices. Spain was like the last country to abolish slavery and it was way after America had.
@cherylschantz98935 ай бұрын
@@ToxicAvengerCleanYourMindit depends upon the region of America. Those in the north were opposed to slavery and were smaller farms. In the South, farms were often plantations given to English men who used slaves to become wealthy. However, 95% of people in the south did not own slaves.

"For black people life was different, they were excluded from the economic mainstream." Yet, 3/4 of the wealth America had was labored on their backs. And until there is some kind of atonement curses and plagues will lead to the ultimate demise of that nation.

@Voucher7654 ай бұрын
Other than that unfortunately the early 1900s were a good time for the economy. However in 40 years there would be 2 World Wars and in between that the Great Depression. Many were who would be born and raised in the early 20th century would become the warriors of WWII
@brainwater1764 ай бұрын
There will be no atonement, for the ones who perpetuated the wrongs are dead and gone. So too are the primarily wronged. However, the aftereffects of these misdeeds still linger. The sins of the white ghosts still haunt. The socioeconomic disparity will wane with time. It has been and continues to do so.
