Very lovely and thoughtful collection Josie. Got me thinking about other classic pieces . I know your aesthetic is more towards paler rosy shades but IMO, I would add blue jeans to the list. Also suit separates: blazer, pencil skirt and suit pants. I haven’t seen you in blazers that much come to think of it. 🤔. I’d say animal prints always have their moments and the leopard print takes the spotlight. I really like and appreciate your taste. I bought my necklace and earrings at Nordstrom over 10 years ago. Got tons compliments every time wearing them. Marjorica brand, or look up online to have a picture of it and their style. Air France sell some on my flight back from Europe last year, but restricted collection.

Wool Lined A line skirt in a neutral colour - below the knee. My favorite basics are definitely silky blouses that have some feminine details, like ruffles, bows or lace. Having a good look at the video, and an even better look at the Lily Silk site, I could never purchase any of them... Single layer only - not lined - and they're too thin... They're not opaque enough to easily be worn in the lightest colorways... I have a beautiful piece from Hugo Boss that I invested in, fur the same price. It's a lovely 100% silk sleeveless blouse, and I never fear for the opacity at all!

A navy blazer is also a great investment piece for any wardrobe. Even though blazers aren't Josie's style, I think she would have included it if she remembered to. Navy is a great neutral colour. Whatever your colouring, light medium or dark, muted clear or in-between, cool warm or neutral there is always going to be shade of navy that will work for you. A Balmain-style blazer is a great classic piece and the original Balmain blazer is a terrific investment.

In regards to the silk "temperature regulating" claims, I do not think this is always true: as a silk garment lover, I have found in my experience that the weave/knit of the fabric determines how cool or warm it is. My favorite fabrics for spring summer are cotton and linen blended with silk. I recently wore a heavy woven long silk skirt to an art reception I was hosting and I was roasting in it. That said, last night I attend friend's campaign kick off and wore silk-linen blend pants (75/25) and 100% silk sheer loose fitting shirt, 100% silk nude camisole (under my nylon underwire bra, yes, under it) and a poly-lined cotton brocade vest. I loosely tied a silk scarf around my neck and I was as cool as a cucumber.

I actually have the H&M pleated skirt from the Richard Allen collection that you showed. I don't shop much at H&M anymore but this collection is definitely more sophisticated and fashion forward. An affordable way to stay on trend. I just purchased a Lily Silk blouse which arrived today but realized (also from comments on the site) that I should have sized up, so will be sending it for an exchange. I very much agree with your list (except I don’t know what a Breton top is). Funny I think a lot about what my Mother used to wear and is any of it still on your list. I was surprised to see how much! I inherited a few pieces and I still reach for them year after year. Pearl earrings, camel coat, sunglasses (not aviator but still very cool), brown belt, white shirt, gold necklace and classic trench! Did we talk about watches? I would say a watch with a beautiful face and a leather strap, or a Rolex-style watch (not a fake, just similar style) from the high street, would be a classic piece. A navy blazer, especially double breasted, paired with white trousers for a nautical look is a classic style. Add a cable knit sweater and an Hermes style neck scarf too. Loafers, especially white.

I have just about everything you mentioned. I got my Chanel bag in 98 same color in lamb skin and as long as you take care of it,it will last you forever I don’t think I’ll ever sell it. I have Silk blouses from 15 years ago I still wear them to this day and no one knows how old they are. I loved this video, you found lovely things out of your own wardrobe. What I would like to add is classic jeans. White or blue or black, classic jeans are always good. By classic I mean no funny colouring no ripping etc. Just plain jeans. With jewelry I think silver is as good as gold. My skins undertone looks a bit sick with gold and warm colors when silver and cold ones make it look the best. Or whitegold offcourse, but the prize for many (including myself) is way too much. And my final disagreement is camel coat. I would have said neutral colour coat. Brown, navy or black are lovely ones as well. My most worn ones are my navy coats I love for Autumn and for Winter. These are more I think color issue, with garments itself you absolutely nailed it. But for person who wears navy as her base for every outfit I missed that one ❤️ Oh also, blazers? Stables or peace of fun? Can be both with loads of colour or none at all. Perhaps well made classic shape (pencil or a-line) skirt is also something to add to list. This gave me ideas for my autumn closet. Thank you, well made and good video.

I would disagree with the aviator sunglasses. I tried them and they just don’t suit my face. I would swap them for ‘a pair of sunglasses that are not particularly trendy’, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t wear them. Great video as always, Josie! Keep up the great work xx

I would add a pair of black trousers. And maybe a blazer. Think I have 13 from your list but always feel like I don't know what to wear. Lol 😂
