17. Cruising The Coventry Canal Part 2.

From Atherstone visitor moorings, I continue my slow cruise along the Coventry Canal. Join me as I make my way to Fradley Junction where the Coventry Canal ends and turns onto the Trent & Mersey Canal.
I had some beautiful weather as well as rain and strong winds but it was a lovely cruise through this picturesque part of the country.
I had one mishap when I caught the chimney on a low bridge, an inch more clearance would have been fine but I had intended to change the chimney anyway so it means I'll probably have to do it sooner rather than later.

You are in my area. The firing range belongs to the military. Whittington Barracks used to be where soldiers started their training but it has now been turned into the medical side of the army. I used to work not far from Hopwas and I have a friend who is permanently moored there. Lovely to see you passing my way.

We moored our ‘convoy’ of 3 boats at Polesworth years ago and ended up herding a dozen male bovines back into the field they had broken out of. There was a lady walking her dog wearing a red coat who was a bit apprehensive but we informed her that they were actually colour blind 😂. The downside of that area was that the local dog walkers were picking up their waste and throwing it in the bushes, disgusting!! 💕🦆

Dog mess on the towpaths seem to be getting worse. Problem is with the tow paths getting really muddy now it’s not as easy to spot it. ☹️☹️
