Its great to have a loyal friend in Koby, certainly makes you get up early for a walk. Where are you spending winter this year Alan ?
@TheNarrowboatNomad6 сағат бұрын
Hi Micheal, Koby loves his early morning walk so I am going to have to get used to it 🤔 As for the winter I’ve decided to take a mooring. I’m having Bubbly Too blacked at the end of the month and there a number of things I want to do inside so it will be easier in a mooring. I’ll still be getting out at times when I can.

Hi Alan, thoroughly enjoying the trip down memory Lane. I did eventually get back on the Ashby Canal where the water level has been extremely low, several of the usual mooring spots you couldn’t stop at as they were silted up but as I met old boating buddies it was a joy to catch up with them 🦆💕
@TheNarrowboatNomad3 күн бұрын
Hi Pam, I was really tempted to do the Ashby Canal on my way south but a number of other boaters told me of the low water levels so I decided to wait until next year. I have the boat booked in to get blacked at the end of the month so didn’t want to get delayed coming back to the Oxford. Hope all is well with you. 🙋♂️😘

Spending the winter in Bosworth Marina, the first time in all these years I have been in one. I must say it’s beautifully kept and all the staff are really friendly, just hope when it gets icy I don’t do a Torvill & Dean impression on the pontoon 😂. Will be out on the canal next year & hopefully we can meet for a cuppa. Big hugs 🤗 to both of you 🐕🦺 🦆💕

Hi, Alan. Great video. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm soon to move onto a narrowboat and the information you provided is great. Can I ask: you have listed two antenna in your written description. Have you since upgraded to the 5g Poynting from the Yoiimiya, then? Thanks, my friend.

Hi Alan, Iam following the same route as you up to the Mac.I also have a car to shuffle as I go, been finding it difficult to find parking places ( have noted some of yours from your vlogs) how do you find parking spots and do you find it better to do short shuffles ( walking distance) or longer ones getting busses back to boat. Keep up the hard work with the vlogs. I am trying to film as much as I can ,but I find it’s extremely hard work so well done.
@TheNarrowboatNomadАй бұрын
Hi, sorry for the delay in answering. I have mainly been doing short shuffles and walking between points. I enjoy walking and now I have Koby (The Dog) it's great to give him the extra exercise. TBH I have only used public transport about three or four times, buses mainly although I did take a train to get past Birmingham as I didn't feel comfortable leaving the car there. As for the filming it is hard work especially when you are on your own and maybe it will be more difficult now with the dog in the short term but I'll do my best, Appreciate your kind comments. 🙋♂️👍😀

It looked like a beautiful area to travel except for the lack of clearance of the encroachment of vegetation. I’m still on the Ashby and have managed to solve problem of sheered bolts on alternator (so can now charge batteries). Loving being back on canal after river, have spoken to loads of folks (me being a person who chats to anyone lol), so loving the general feeling of being back where I belong. Looking forward to the introduction of your new crew member 🦆💕

@JustTwoPeople are bang-on. It is a four wheel trolley that folds up and is a clever design. When it is opened up it can carry a huge amount. It makes light work of getting stuff along the towpath. 😃

Great vlog as always, wife and I are curious what is the other outlet on your roof in front of the chimney.
@TheNarrowboatNomad4 ай бұрын
Hi Charlie, Bubbly Too was built in 1988 and originally had a multi fuel stove with a back burner for hot water, the stove had a flue that was set at an angle before passing through the roof. The previous owner replaced the stove with a new Morśo 1410 stove and replaced the flue with a straight one. So the second outlet was where the old chimney flue was. Not sure why the change was a made but having a straight flue does make cleaning the chimney easier. Glad you’re enjoying the vlogs. 👍😃

The Grand Union Canal passes right through Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick. The flight of locks you saw were probably the Hatton Flight of 21 locks and a rise of 160ft. I will be tackling them iduring the next part of my cruise.
