we have to start somewhere and my most recent conversation was on generals in particular, so let's get into those. if it effects defense at all I'll try to brush over it at a minimum. thanks for enjoying the video and please feel free to speak up. cheers to your game!

Thanks for the bites of information about Evony and how to look at certain aspects of the game. I have learned that how you look at something is far more important than what you copy from others. Come up with your unique recipe for success. We in GS1 look at the game far differently than most others. Derrick Defies makes a pretty convincing argument that speed books don't work. I sure don't know the truth of the matter, but it seems worth taking into account.

I've long heard these arguments. Here's where I fall on that, no one knows for sure. Them "not working" seems a crazy statement to me. Now, you might not like how they work for you, and I would agree they aren't beneficial to many defense. I've used speed books since they came out. They've never been popular because most don't even understand deep field mechanics. It's easy to just pick things you are confident in and that sound good and just justify your choice by discrediting speed. I'll let everyone avoid those books, and I'll use them. I actually prefer that lol.

When we get into cavalry, it should be xlear why the books work great done right. Everyone has an opinion, I like to show the results.

About duty generals: I was under the impression that specialties not clearly marked "when the general is the X officer" the specialty didnt apply. Are you only improving those specialties to unlock the ones that DO have that demarcation?

You are correct only duty specified specialties apply, in the case I would have any others done it would be sure to several things: first what you eluded to and That is to unlock potential buffs that do apply, but I can't think of a gen off the top of my head that I've done that with. So you have an example? Secondly it's entirely possible I wasn't sober and upped a few specialties that don't apply lol. Thanks for the question my friend.

@@evonybites taking a cursory look of the duty generals, one specific things stands out to me: The troop building free duty officer generals (think Oleg, Abd Al-rahman, John of Portugal, Gwon Ryul...) do not have any duty officer specific buffs in their specialties; it's all troop training speed and capacity in specialties 3 and 4 for these guys. On the other hand, the premium duty officer generals for the troops buildings (Mikhail krutzov, Stilicho, etc.) have a related attack buff in their final specialty. I only list these 2 because I don't have the others, but I expect the pattern is the same.

@@evonybites looking further and understanding a little about your defense style, I think you would like to look at the following premium duty officers (if possible) Otto the Great Clovis I Stephen the Great I recognize premium duty generals are DIFFICULT. Personally, I will change over to all free duty officers in the future (exception being buildings that only have a premium option). This is for more access to ascension buffs.

Yes on tekenada it does. I keep rotating some things out can't decide what I want there. Take is a relatively new choice for me on wall so he won't be set in maybe for a bit. Thank you and Sharp eyes my friend.

Toy in RS needs max spec and at 38 with a red star can go super. Oleg needs a star in stables. Every trap keep can be defeated. Just leave it alone. You didn't focus much at all on the 2 most difficult debuffs. Siege HP snd Ground attack. Being under 5B You are not getting first hit siegeso you have a lot of debuff from your gear sitting in limbo. But at 38 definitely strong D. Id like to see the reports of a k42 ground solo with 7-8m troops and 2500 to 3000 buff. You for sure did the right thing by Siege HP% Not flats

I'm a k37. Appreciate the very smart and in depth response my friend. We are not that new of a server but certainly not old. I'm not actually behind at all quite the opposite. This gives me alot of breathing room and I take it lol. I'm not the heaviest Invest player so I have to budget. Thanks again!
