The character of Lucifer in the show is based on Lucifer in Paradise Lost and I have noticed hints from Letters From the Earth by Mark Twain. Anyways, I mention this because Lucifer in the Bible is a reference to the planet Venus (known as the morning star) and there is no indication that Lucifer and Satan are the same being. I know, a lot of background to get to my response. The Book of Revelations speaks of Satan's fall from heaven and that he took a third of the stars from heaven. This is interpreted to mean that a third of the angels joined the rebellion and were cast down to become demons. That may be what you read about Lucifer and the stars.

@@FlicksAndTheCity Yeah the devil wings were great, some of the best effects in Lucifer. The devil face is far better in the Netflix show too imo. With both of them, it was hard to tell any CGI was involved. The movement of the devil wings was really natural and realistic, and they even had the light diffusion through the wings like with the dragons in Game of Thrones. One thing that gets me though - how can winged characters pop out their wings when they are wearing shirts or jackets? Would've thought every time they opened their wings they would end up ripping their clothes but that doesn't seem to happen (apart from the bow down scene where Lucifer rips his shirt but then he's showing his full body devil form that makes him bigger and scarier). I would prefer if all of the winged characters were topless every time they had their wings out, especially with a body like Tom Ellis, shots like that are the ones that give you real rush, like seeing Lucifer standing topless in the desert with his wings in full glory. Also was wondering, the full body devil form with as you say 'bat wings' is a first for Lucifer when it is introduced to us? As he's only mentioned having the ability to make people see a devil face before, and said the changes happening to him were something different as he thought a 'devil hand' would sound stupid. Dr. Linda said that angels can self actualise so their own thoughts and feelings about themselves can effect their appearance, and Lucifer meeting his first love Chloe seems to have triggered his changing all over to a similar look to his devil face, and we learn it's because he can't forgive himself for all the inadvertent and unintentional bad things his presence seems to cause people, especially Chloe, so deep down although he always has his dapper charm he sees himself as this evil beast causing him to look this way. I was so happy Chloe helped him realise he wanted to forgive himself and be good and worthy of Chloe's affection which allowed him to return to his normal appearance. So I was thinking that in the bow down scene, he had to draw on his bestial devil appearance to make the demons obey his command and go back to hell - this must have been the first time even the demons saw him with the full devil appearance, if up until that point the devil face was the extent of his devil appearance, so no wonder the demons instantly bowed and obeyed - they must have been shocked themselves seeing him in this form. I loved that juxtaposition, he'd already had the breakthrough that allowed him to return to his normal appearance and had to make himself look evil and bestial but for a good reason.

When lucifer confronts Tierning for the first time in episode 7 of this season, when he's holding the chair handle, Chloe tries to calm him down and eve on the other hand encourages it, Chloe is on his right side while eve is on his left. I think they were representing those good and bad angels you see often times in cartoons as a plot device when the characters battling between temptation and morals and Chloe is shown as the good and eve is shown as the bad angel. Also the roles are reversed lucifers an angel instead of being human and eve and Chloe are human instead of being angels

*conspiracy theory:* Well sooo... In one of the last episodes pater Kinley and Eve talked about Eve being his first love (apparently she's not, Chloe is) and pater Kinley told her that it would be a great idea to go back to hell with Lucifer. Obviously, Eve knew that he would never do that and pater Kinley told her that maybe he would if he had a QUEEN with him in hell. He said that because he believed Eve is his first love! Later when Lucifer was fighting the demons he said: "Now bow down to your KING" and right after this scene they switched the camera to Chloe. ALSO: Trixie came to visit Lucifer in one episode because she thought he could use a friend. She saw his apartment for the first time and when she saw his bedroom she said "wow you have stairs to your bedroom.." (or something like that) and then they zoomed in and she continued with "like a PRINCESS" and continued running. Obviously, she's Chloe's daughter tho. Call me crazy but IMAGINE this was all planned! Foreshadowing on Chloe being his Queen while he runs hell.

when naming charlie, one of the name that pops up is Michael, and Amenadiel instantly dislikes it, so in theory Michael might be an angle that have a bad relationship with Amenadiel. In the comic book series Michael is Lucifer's twin, and also the "leader" against Lucifer's rebellion against God. So it could be possible, for him to be introduced in season 5.

Well he has to keep Hell at bay making sure they don't start an attack on earth. Lucifer here is an anti-hero. The balance between good and evil is nicely showcased for the character. Graham McTavish is amazing as the Father. He was great as Loki in Hulk Vs. Thor. McTavish was also in the Lord of the Rings prequel trilogies, Rambo IV and as King Atlan in Aquaman during the Flashbacks.

He isn't an anti-hero at all. An anti-hero lacks typical heroic aspects (bravery, courage, a moral code, etc,) all of which the Lucifer character has. A typical anti-hero would be the coward who 'does the right thing'- Theon Greyjoy in GoT, when he finally helps Sansa for example. Lucifer's a fairly textbook hero at the Challenges and Temptations phase of the Heroes Journey and heading for the Revelation/Tranformation by the final episode.

Here are some more details you probably missed: 1. Lucifer’s bedroom has sculptures of Hindu God and Godesses. I noticed Ganesha and Natraj in season 4. 2. Linda suggests Jack as their child’s name which is a reference to CW’s show Supernatural where Jack was a nephilim and son of Lucifer. 3. Amenadiel asks Remiel if she was tired of hearing Castiel singing which again could be a potential reference to Supernatural. 4. Amenadiel suggests the name Ezekiel for their son. Ezekiel was an alias used by the angel Gadreel who was given the responsibility to protect the garden of Eden where Adam and Eve lives. However Gadreel failed his responsibility and was hence locked in a heaven’s prison forever. 5. Amenadiel was quick to deny the name Michael which may suggest that he may not have a liking for his younger brother.

There are two creation stories in Bible/Torah. 1- Man and woman created together. 2- Adam created, then Eve from a rib. Judaism named the first wife Lilith. She refused to be a nice wife and follow Adam's orders, particularly regarding sex. She doesn't want to be on the bottom all the time. She leaves Adam, angels are sent to bring her back, she refuses. She then gets replaced with Eve. Jewish mythology made Lilith a sex-demon (succubus) who steals babies not protected by an amulet with the names of the angels sent to bring her back to Eden. Part of a deal she made. Her demon children are supposed to be the result of copulating with human men as a succubus.

Also about number 16, where Amenadiel goes up to Ildy Modrovich, he asks her what she's writing. This is a nod to Sweet Kicks, S1E5, where Maze and Amenadiel talk in a coffee shop, and Maze says, "Really? Look at them on their laptops, writing the next great screenplay, torturing themselves with dreams they know, deep down, they will never achieve." It seemed to be recreating that moment, for me. Especially because, in that scene of S1E5, Amenadiel tells Maze that he's "much more comfortable with humans than [she] think[s]", and in the scene in season four, Amenadiel is trying to connect with humans. Also, it's a nice nod to how Ildy is a showrunner for Lucifer, as Amenadiel asks her what she's _writing,_ insinuating that she's writing a screenplay.
