anyone else here who didn't really get attached to Rory? She came out of nowhere, suddenly we needed to care for her as Luci's + Chloe's daughter but she came into it too surprisingly and was such a big character to the whole (FINAL) storyline. I liked her but I felt extra bitter about Trixie, a character since season 1, being completely sidelined and not even showing up at Chloe's deathbed. Like come on. I care more about Trixie than Rory, sorry. I was also slightly sad to see Dan's killer on Luci's therapy sofa. I get he is the literal lightbringer at the end and everyone deserves a second chance but Dan's death hurt me and his killer being 1. the last villain 2. Dan even possessing him and talks to Trixie?? and then 3. him possibly being able to redeem himself after killing off such a loving character had me a bit hurt lmao

@@rockabilly9113 Rory fit perfectly because she WAS the storyline. I just mean that throughout all other seasons, there were no hints or talks about Lucifer ever being able to father a child/half angel and suddenly he has a daughter at the very end of this whole show. She was there, we "had" to accept and care for her emotions so suddenly but honestly, I never even really warmed up to her to care enough for her emotional teenage outbursts. As in, there was not enough time to get attached to her like we did with Ella for example, who was a newcomer back then and was an important asset till the end. I enjoyed the season overall but it wasn't the best in my eyes.

I really liked that last season but there's one thing that didn't make me like it as much as I could. The writers were almost treating Trixie like she didn't exist. I say "almost" because of course she was still present and had a role to play in Dan's redemption. But still, there are a lot of important moments where she should be there or at least mentioned and yet she isn't. Like, why wasn't she there when Chloe died? Rory will be able to see her mom but we don't know if Trixie will. Like, why isn't Trixie treated as a member of Chloe and Lucifer's family when she absolutely should be? It almost felt like Trixie was just Dan's daughter and not Chloe's

Yea I kinda agree with you that they just completely sidelined Trixie, like the whole of Season 6 for her was just her summer camp other than being there for Dan's redemption arc. Also, some things just do not add up, like does Trixie know why Lucifer was absent? I thought they had such a sweet father-and-daughter relationship throughout the series but Lucifer didn't even bother to say his final "goodbyes" like what he did for Maze, Ella, etc? Also, wouldn't Trixie find it puzzling that she saw her future grown-up younger sister?

I choose to believe that Trixie was the first to know when Lucifer showed his eyes to the mean girl it was reflected in the glass of a trophy case and Trixie saw it. I’m truly sorry to be a buzzkill but while I honestly understand the concept Rory was going for in her theory that Lucifer may not/likely wouldn’t come to understand his “true calling” without leaving things exactly as they were, I believe there exists more than ONE PATH to Lucifer coming to understand his “true calling” and it would allow him to be a part of his daughters life, as well as Trixie’s continuing years and watching his one year old nephew grow up as well. The writers want us (apparently) to suspend disbelief to the extent that supposedly we, the audience, do not understand that by not being a part of Rorys life, Lucifer is also not a part of Linda, Maze, Eve, & as mentioned Charlie & Rory’s early years. It’s lovely that Rory is no longer mad/furious/ready to kill her father for not being around thruout her childhood, but it isn’t a one way street. Lucifer also doesn’t get the joy of watching Rory and Charlie first start walking, flying, teething, first day of school, etc. etc. thru adulthood. Sure they are both celestials so they will be around for a super long time, but Lucifer can not ever have those moments Rory has personally determined in an approximately three minute period of time before she’s sent back to the future. She’s not an expert on how time travel works. It’s ludicrous that BOTH Chloe and Lucifer are deprived of sharing these moments as well bc a 22 year old (25 year old?) daughter from the future forces Lucifer to make a promise in a twenty second window of time. I truly enjoyed season six of Lucifer, but I thought The Devil’s personal ending was harsh, uncalled for, and it merely brought back memories of him being stuck down in hell for millennia basically alone while everybody else had others around to bring joy to their lives.

@johnwotek3816
@johnwotek3816 2 жыл бұрын
@@prosen8966 The string theory is the idea that you have an infinite amount of universe, each being the reflection of different choices on the timeline. Basically, Rory is from timeline A, she travel back in time and, by preventing her dad from abandonning her, she create a new timeline B in which her father never abandonned her. But, timeline A still exist, since the creation of timeline B doesn't mean that A never existed, so Rory still can go back in time create timeline B, thus avoiding a paradox. The only issue would be that she either go back to timeline B where she never went back in time, ending with two Rory living in the same timeline. Or she go back to A, but it's like nothing happened for her.

@@normanbeaulieu4204 When Lucy returns to hell for the final time he completely changes everything about how it is ran/operated... In one of the previous seasons Lucy had to return to his thorn in hell because things spiraled out of control during his absence well on earth... and that was well hell was operating on the most basic premise of torturing souls... Lucy's new hell is about redeeming damned souls, so its a far more complex hell. Throughout the series were told the time difference between hell and earth is substantial, something like one minute on earth is like a year in hell... without the Devil at the helm hell can easily fall into chaos. Rory's time with Lucy gives us the insight that once Lucy goes back to hell this final time, he never returns to earth even for a short visit... we're to assume this is for various reasons including that if Lucy returns and meets his young daughter Rory and sees everything else he's left behind on earth from Chloe to his nephew Charlie, he might just have a change of heart and never want to return back to his duties in hell. and even beyond that fact, mere minutes on earth is years passed in hell were everything hes built there could quickly collapse within his absence... 10 minutes of time on Earth to celebrate one of Rory's birthday is 10 years of elapsed time in hell... thats 10 years in which everything he built and changed in hell and the entire reason he made the hard sacrifice of giving up life on earth, could vary well spiral out of his control in just 10 minutes of time on earth and then his sacrifice would truly be for nothing.

Alternate endings that would’ve maintained the dramatic intensity it deserved: 1) Lucifer is killed by Le Mec when he sacrifices himself for Rory’s sake. He dies, but when he wakes up, he’s in heaven. The writers could’ve still maintained the redemption story they wanted because the devil, condemned to hell, finally made it to heaven for real. It would’ve been the perfect time to send him to heaven, considering he had dealt with his guilt by apologising to all of the characters in the previous episode and was doing one final selfless act of sacrifice. It would’ve also been a nice ending for Deckerstar fans because they would’ve known Chloe would eventually join him in heaven too. Lucifer and Chloe could also then be reunited with characters in heaven from past episodes. E.g Father Frank. 2) Lucifer is killed by Le Mec, again, but this time, he doesn’t wake up. Instead, it goes back to the first clip of the first episode. Lucifer driving in his car down the streets of LA. The whole series had been his hell loop. The biggest, most intricate hell loop that there is - the devil’s hell loop. After all, they did say ‘You look familiar, have we met?’ In the first episode. Yes, infinitely. Sometimes the happy ending is not the best. What I feel they missed is an ending with power and strong emotions. The ending was a little rushed, messy, and weak, so it took away from the strength of it. I would’ve liked to see Chris Rafferty write this episode rather than Joe and Ildy, considering Chris is notorious for writing so many people’s favourite episodes. (A Priest Walks Into A Bar, A Good Day To Die, Monster) etc etc. I know Joe and Ildy are to thank for bringing us this show but Chris definitely deserved to write it, and would’ve done a far better job, I think. That being said, I’m still satisfied and in awe of the final season. There were so many amazing moments. The scene where Chloe and Lucifer are trying to find Rory in the warehouse, and killing everybody in their way, was shot with such creativity. It reminded me of the mental hospital scene in the God Johnson episode (2x16) where ‘God’ and Lucifer walked through the hospital to ‘In A Blackout.’ Also, I really appreciated what they did with Dan as a ghost. It was clever, and the scene where he got to talk to Trixie in Le Mec’s body was powerful. And finally, the scenes with Lucifer saying goodbye to everyone were great. His moment with Amenadiel, where he finally shares his appreciation, and his moment with Rory on the beach, where he tells her about his own father, and the wonderful moment with Maze, who seems to be the only person who realises she isn’t going to see Lucifer again, without him telling her, shows the depth of their bond. I also loved the flashbacks and references to season 1 and 2 throughout. It felt like a proper, well-earned farewell. Thank you Lucifer Production Team.

The Idea about the show being his own hell loop and the first scene where the officer says "have we met?" on ep. 1gave me chills! That would have messed me up in a mind-blowing way, but for once I'm happy the writers somewhat gave the viewers what they wanted and completed each charecter's arc rather than trying to make the ending a "head trip" or "open to interpretation" .

@@dylanclarke7927 this was not in any way a positive ending. Not for Lucifer. He was yet again sacrificed by the most important person in his life, with no regard for what made sense or Lucifer's needs. He asked for one thing in all 6 seasons. He begged for it. He was denied it, even though it would have made a better ending. He could have easily just stuck around to raise Rory, then when Chloe died, they could have gone together to start his new gig in Hell. And the worst part is, we're meant to shrug it off. Rory shrugs it off. It's a blink, it will be over soon, in the grand scheme of things. Millenia of pain, knowing the daughter he loves is growing up to hate him, knowing how she feels every day being abandoned by her father, missing all the things all loving parents crave to experience, knowing that he didn't chose to be there. She used his best trait to trap him in hell. The poster child for free will is denied his free will at the end, by the person he loves the most. And we isn't even allowed to be mad about it. And we don't see any of it. It's like his pain doesn't matter. His growth doesn't matter. Lucifer doesn't matter. He's still required to give up everything that matters for someone else's sake. He's a human sacrifice, dragged kicking and screaming to the altar and begging for his life. What a horrible, horrible ending.

I honestly feel like this season was rushed to end it all. It was such a good story only to have Chloe and Lucifer apart all those years. Somehow he was always able to come and go as he pleased but he couldn't continue to do the same in the end? All the demons could help him I think. They definitely rushed the ending a bit honestly. The whole timeline storyline was handled poorly and the fact that Rory wanted to be an edgy angsty angry person and Lucifer was practically banished back to hell in a way because of this was absolutely dumb. No further elaboration of Michael’s punishment in Hell, which would’ve been nice, and Trixie was entirely an afterthought and didn’t even discover who Lucifer truly was. It just felt rushed and it contradicted a lot of Season 5B’s content as well. It should’ve just ended there.

I agree with what you've said, and tbh rory was really selfish with the burden she gave lucifer, i cringed when chloe convinced lucifer to agree with it, and those souls don't need healing, they went to hell for a reason lol, Lucifer was enjoyable but tbh I think Linda was the most consistent likable character, I'd say she's the best, Adam is pretty great as well, what also annoyed me is when amenadiel, instead of using a prop phone to "talk" to Dan, he talked straight up, it coulda been the easiest solution, also yea when ella kept having those tantrums in the club bro i was actually annoyed with her lol, overall rory was the character i literally hated 😂, and lucifer shoulda let rory kill Vince, if he died because of it and chloe didn't save him that would've been so dumb, I've thought about it, overall the best s6 characters are Maze, Eve, Adam, Dan, and Linda, I like lucifer, I do, rory is the one who made him do dumb decisions, i enjoyed the season, ill just never Rewatch it tho, lol,

I have no respect for writers who want it "both ways". You can EITHER have: 1. Rory spends the first 50 years of her life angry and traumatized because she was abused and neglected by horrible parents. OR 2. Rory grows up wondering about her father, but because her mother is so loving and nuturing that she got through it. You CANNOT have Chloe as a wonderful parent AND Rory is still enraged about her father 50 years later. Just absolute garbage writing. And after the beauty of season 5, where even an apparent "filler episode" (It Never Ends Well for the Chicken) ends up being the lynch pin for the entire plot of the season, it was just shocking.

I was seriously angry at the end of the last episode. Chloe had become a 'perfect' person, never making any mistakes. And then she has to be the sacrificial mother - raising two children on her own and being chaste for the REST of her life, just because her daughter wanted it that way? Oh, yeah, she gets her reward in the afterlife. Sure. As a mom, I get really angry when shows expect moms to give up everything for their children. Its a juvenile fantasy. Ok, ok, it was also for Lucifer in a way, because that MAY have been the only way he could fully actualize to be the healer of the damned. Rory is angry and troubled (a lost soul) because Lucifer abandoned her. So, she travels back in time to be saved by lucifer from the damage he created, but will always trap the newly born Rory in a loop. Lucifer could have still answered his calling, treating it as a 9 to 5, and breaking the loop for the next Rory. The whole season was great, those last 10 minutes, lame.

It upsets me that the only reason why they had to deliberately abuse Rory so the loop could continue is literally just time travel bullshit. Because if Rory doesn't get angry as hell to go back in time at Chloe's deathbed, the past wouldn't be changed to make Lucifer's epiphany happen, but it also wouldn't have led to his abandonment of her, which would've resulted in a better life for them anyway, I think. It would've been a much braver choice on the writers' part if they decided to make Lucifer break the loop and actually be there for his family, see how things would've gone.

To watch The love between Lucifer and Chloe develop over the years was amazing. Then to get the chance to have a family and he wasn't there was so hard to watch. I truly know the only reason he left was because he gave his word to his daughter he wouldn't change anything. For me, that would have to be one time id break my word to be able to raise my daughter with my literal soul mate. To think about Chloe going 30/40 years without him 💔 but then also she was still wearing his ring on her death bed. She literally love dthat man until the day she died. My damn heart 😅❤

I've been following the show since it was announced many years ago, I was here through the highs and lows and still loved every minute of it, and I was here through the dropping and immediate revival by Netflix. So needless to say I love the hell out of this show, and to be honest I wouldn't have the ending any other way. I thought it was a perfect and beautiful sendoff that had me openly sobbing ugly tears for the last ~30 minutes. While it does hurt knowing that Chloe and Luci were apart for so many years, I'm sure it was worth it, for Chloe at least, since I'm certain she knew she would get to choose where to go (and we all knew what choice she was gonna make) when the time came. Even though I'm sad it's over, I'm happy the show ended on its own terms with the ending they wanted.

@@kittylover62 When Lucy returns to hell for the final time he completely changes everything about how it is ran/operated... And as another commenter mentioned Amenadiel has many siblings to help him with his godly duties, Lucy is on his own until Chloe arrives to lend a hand.

Just finished the series yesterday and I'm still somewhat mourning the loss. I started watching Lucifer as just a lighthearted comedy relief and I love how it grew and changed, like Luc. The story really affected me. I had a thought about the whole Rory business: I rather felt that Rory needed to come back not just to inspire Lucifer to his calling but to give him the idea that he could have a child with Chloe, that it might not have occurred to him to self-actualize that and their relationship would have lost a lot of its depth and profundity in the end. Just a thought that helped me feel better about the bittersweet ending. Bittersweet sure was a great word for it.

I expected that ending scene, so I am fine with the end, but I was sad with the previous 15-20 minutes. But each time I watch it, more I understand why they did it. Amenadiel commuted Heaven and Earth, but he had help in both realms, Lucifer was alone and a lot of lost souls to help (I suppose he will save the souls that deserve it, because some of them are evil). Chloe had a calling too, and in 6x04 they gave us clues that being gods and live on Earth would be difficult for them. Showrunners said while Lucifer doesn't mess up with the Time Loop, he could visit his family from afar, reunite with them or even hold Baby Rory. I think they also said it could be possible change the time in Hell to be more similar to Earth, especially because now Hell is not hellish anymore, but a place to heal. I suppose Amenadiel could use his new powers for Rory doesn't feel Lucifer. Showrunners also said this is not a goobye, but new beginnings. They want to create new stories if it is possible.

Making it about the wedding, about Ella finding out everything, he and Trixie (I love their relationship so much and she was pushed out most of the season???), maybe a mortality worry and he and Chloe still ending up in hell together, wrapping it up with the same ending for everyone else. It would have been *so* perfect, or nearly there. Rory was filler as far as I’m concerned.

Definitely GOT was worse lmaoooo. I liked Lucifer's final season mostly, but the writing just felt "off" to me, because it lacked its usual flawlessness, which left me feeling slightly dissatisfied, mostly because of the Trixie bit. I mean, we saw her grow and develop as a character (around Lucifer and Maze) and for what? To be set aside and forgotten in the final episodes?? That's like Jon Snow finding out he's a Targaryan just to be outcast and with the wildlings in the end. It just felt wrong, pointless even. She wasn't even included in any special family scenes like on the beach or in the panic room. Chloe just didn't seem as worried about her like we know her to be in the earlier seasons. But she was all about Rory, an angry teenage celestial stranger with blades/daggers for wings - that she just met. They definitely weren't concerned about Trixie like we were used to seeing, and dropped the ball on giving her character the ending she deserved, one that we all expected but clearly didn't get. Was season 6 perfect? No way. Heck, they could've written it exactly the same way with the exception that she was fairly accounted for, to give us loyal viewers some kind of Trixie closure! But hey, what do I know? I either drink and know things or I know nothing.

The only thing I still feel bad about is that Lucifer didn't stay till Rory was born to be able to hold his own daughter, is not like she was going to remember him, plus he didn't promise to Rory that he would go immediately to Hell, so that part felt a little rushed and could have been done better so Lucifer could have actually felt the moment he became a father, and he and Chloe would have had a little more time together on Earth. Anyway at least they got to spend eternity together, and I don't think anyone would have minded if Chloe and Lucifer actually got married before he went down to Hell. I also liked how Chloe became the strongest she had ever been in the end by raising two daughters on her own, while working at the LAPD, and still loved Lucifer so much for the rest of her human life that she remained faithfull to him and didn't cheat, for all of these reasons she really ended up equally as strong as Lucifer in the end despite being just a human. As for Lucifer I felt really sad that he had to endure more millennia by himself when he went to Hell, considering how much more quickly time passes there comparing to Earth, for him the last 30-40 years of Chloe living alone might have been millennia of waiting by himself and it just doesn't sit right with me that even though he wouldn't see his daughter grow up and that's pain enough, he also had to stay alone for such a long time, at least he and Chloe would be together for the rest of eternity and Rory will visit them a lot after learning the truth.

it's a happy ending disguised as a bittersweet one. yes Lucifer missed out on a lot but look at it this way Rory's childhood and Chloe's mortal life is nothing compared to the literal endless fun and memories they'll have for eternity. i bet that Amenadeil is going to turn Chloe,Dan and Charlotte into his new Arch-angels so they can all go back to earth at some point. also Lucifer doesn't have to be in hell all the time as well. the reason he was in hell for that long was because he was for the first time in forever happy to be in hell because he had a purpose now and it wasn't just a job.

A few months later after the E10 events could've been the perfect ending. Amenadiel teaching Charlie how to fly while Linda prepares snacks for them, Trixie and Rory being the best siblings while they share their childhood together, Maze and Eve buying a mansion after months of bounty hunting, and Lucifer & Chloe meeting in heaven having picnics with Amenadiel, Dan and Charlotte. It was a good ending but not what I expected from a really good and long running TV show

one of the best series I've ever watched, the ending is beautiful. tho I kinda feel bad about lucifer, Chloe and rory's not being able to be together on earth while Chloe still alive. but I understand they must do that, for the greater purpose. I can see why some of us think it could be written in a different way, let's say Rory's time travel actually changes the past and the future and doesn't cause any paradox, many time travel story did that. and they'll become a happy family. but maybe the writer just wants to emphasize "the greater purpose" lucifer, chloe and rory have to do while still manage to love each other despite time and distance, also to show that our selfish, narcissist and immature devil has now grow and became a better celestial being for all mankind. in the end, everyone still got their happy ending. so it's not perfect ending but it is a beautiful ending.

I loved the series as a whole. was so invested in the characters till the very end, I'm just not happy with the Trixie neglect, the writers dropped the ball with this one. This is not the writers fault. This is Netflix fault. By the time they asked Ildy and Joe if they'd do a 6th season, they were half way through filimg season 5. Scarlett Estevez had already signed on to do Utraviolet and Blue Devil because she didn't think there would be a 6th season. By that time she was under contract and was certainly not going to give up a new series to finish up one that was wrapping up. I don't blame her or the writers one bit. If Netflix would have asked sooner about a 6th season, it may have been avoided.

Season 6 was pretty good. I felt it was rushed though, and going to 16 episodes could have allowed for better depth and exploration on themes like Ella discovering the truth, Adam and Eve's arc, Lucifer's final coming to terms, and more. Each of the major plot points plays out as though the characters important at the time just stumble upon the answer and move forward unwaveringly...but at other times they'd take time to review the truth of a situation, or explore their feelings. Season 6 seemed to put most of that to the side so they could shoehorn the story into 10 episodes. Maybe 16 would have been too many. But 10 was too few. The saving grace of it all was the heartstrings they tugged on in EP 10. It was enough that I could forgive the rushed-ness of it.

I’m gonna be honest I really wasn’t a fan of the ending. I just feel like this season characters did so many 180 things that they previously never did or would do and I just wasn’t okay with that. In my opinion the best option they could have had instead of this timeline craziness would have been Rory dying in Lucifer’s arms and he promises to raise her and be there for “every Christmas, and every birthday”. Her death them makes him self actualize as a mortal and he and Chloe get married and we see a montage of them solving crimes and growing old together and raising both Trixie and Rory and they eventually die together and when they are reunited in Heaven where we see all the characters we’ve lost in the past seasons. We see the preist from the first season, the thief who made his way to heaven, Ella, Linda, Dan, Charlotte, Chloe and her father etc. And we end one a super good note. I just can’t see Lucifer ever abandoning Chloe in any way shape of form to presue something his father planned for him. I also don’t like how Chloe ended up in hell because even if she is with Lucifer she’s separated from everyone else she loves. I was expecting a whole lot more out of the series finale and honestly I unfortunately didn’t get it. Oh well though not like it’ll ever change

I totally agree with you. It would have been a perfect ending in my opinion. Lucifer forced to abadonned Chloe and Rory is what ruined the finale and potentially the tv show. Lucifer even if was kind of forced to do so, abandoned his daughter just like his father did to him. None of them diserve it.

I was hoping that Rory would time-travel back to the future and accidentally bring Lucifer, but be unable ot bring him back - so it was never actually his choice to leave. I woudlnt have been ok w killing Rory tho. Can you imagine the torture of raising a child after you've already seen her death?

I totally agree with you, I thought that Lucifer would become a mortal and not become God, that we’d see Michael’s time in hell, how Amenadiel is as God, and go back to Lucifer and Chloe solving crimes, raising trixie together, then die together and both go to heaven whilst Maze rules hell. I feel like Rory kind of came out of nowhere and that whole thing was just rushed. But then again, I noticed every season a new character is introduced and is a big part of the plot. Idk, I guess I just missed the whole detective partners thing in this season!

A spinoff with the other angels coming down to Earth to work at Lux would be great. Being guided by Ella and forging their own lives. Some leaving Lux to go travel, others falling in love and pursuing a family. Some getting into debauchery, abusing their powers at first. Some get into politics? Some going back to heaven. They'll be like young adults in a dormitory at a college, growing with every episode.

And just like that my favorite show has concluded. I’m torn, in a way I never want it to end, but on the other hand I am so glad it’s a show that’s phenomenal from start to finish and wasn’t needlessly dragged on longer than it should. I remember deciding to watch it while being stuck in quarantine last year. It’s become such a big part of my life, and it’s had an effect on my personality! So I’ll rewatch it for years to come, but it’ll never be as glorious as watching it for the first time. Then again that’s the bittersweet reality of the end of the road, part of the journey is the end. So thank you Fox for starting something great, and thank you Netflix for saving it and finishing it like a champion! Most of all thank you Lucifer and all the ppl involved for entertaining and changing me! 😇😈
