Hi everyone!
Thanks for joining me again...
In this video I created 3 more sets of ceramic tile coasters.
Set 1 - I used the same colours as in video # 4 with the exception of swapping orange for copper.
I had a lot of amazing feedback on that particular colour combo so I decided to try it on tiles. I really love the way it turned out.
Set 2 - I used purple, Ivory and Payne's grey
I didn't like it at first but it totally grew on me and I love it.
Set 3 - back to the blues.. my fave colours. Love this one too.
Colours used in this video:
Set 1:
Copper by Artist's Loft
Dioxazine Purple by Liquitex Basics
Opaque Primary Yellow by Pebeo Studio Acrylics
Metallic Cobalt Blue by Artist's Loft
Set 2:
Payne's Grey by Liquitex Basics
Prism Violet by Liquitex Basics
Buff Titanium by Pebeo Studio Acrylics
Set 3:
Thalo Blue by Academy
Brilliant Blue by liquitex Basics
Rose Gold by Deco Art Metallics
Iridescent Blue Green by Pebeo Studio Acrylics

Nice going on your painted tiles,1st and 3rd I really like,you seem to get good results when using blues .I have found myself not using so much black or grey paint as they seem to take over the other color paints. What are you going to use as a backing for the tiles.Hope you don't mind me asking Kanella, were did you get your big Popsicle sticks from.
@KanellaCiracoArt
@KanellaCiracoArt 5 жыл бұрын
Julie Price hi Julie, thanks for the lovely comment. And please, feel free to ask any questions you want. That’s why I do these videos, to help people. I love blues, I’ve used them so many times... they mix well and there’s no chance of them turning to mud. I have never tried black and white as all I see is a grey mess lol As for the backs of the tiles, I actually use foam. I buy a large roll of it from michaels (in the felt section) and cut out the squares and then hot glue them to the back of my tiles. I’ve seen people use cork but I find the cork crumbles when you cut it. So I use the foam instead. I get the large popsicle sticks from the dollar store. 😊

@@KanellaCiracoArt Thanks for replying so quickly! I really appreciate all your answers..I will definitely watch you videos on putting backing on the tiles and also the one on how to resin. I'm pretty new at pour painting, but I am totally obsessed! So having your videos to watch is a great help! Thanks for the clear instructions. My newest obsession is the dutch pour, so I will watch all your videos so I can do this better...What kind of hair dryer do you use? I've tried 2 different ones and they don't blow enough...I've ended up blowing the whole thing through a straw..It gets pretty exhausting! Anyway, Thanks so much for all the help. It's very much appreciated!!
@KanellaCiracoArt
@KanellaCiracoArt 5 жыл бұрын
Carol Alexander no problem Carol. I just use a cheap hair dryer that I bought at Walmart. It’s ‘conair’. Don’t blow with a straw. That’s the worst thing you can do. You will get all dizzy and it doesn’t work well. If you have to blow, just use your mouth. Your mouth is wider than a straw so you will blow less than if you were using the straw.
@carolalexander2717

I'm wondering why you don't pour the paint the same way you do on canvas? Squiggly lines across the middle and then blow out.

because when i made this video and these piece it was about 5 months ago - I had not started the whole squiggly line yet idea...

Would you show us the flip technique please? I really want to do that. I have done coasters with alcohol ink and made them heat proof. They were a hit. Thank you. God bless.

Lower setting on the hair dryer would keep your colors from getting muddy.

No, the lower setting won't push my paint around.. I have tried... I also don't think my colours turned muddy on any of these.,...

Kanella, They are all GORGEOUS! Did you put silicone in your paint to get the cells? Also, are they going to be ready to use when they are dry, or will you have a video on how you seal them? Thank you so much! You are an amazing teacher!😊❤❤
