I spent a few days down in Pitalito, in Huila. I was filming a little TV for next year, and I wish I had had more time to shoot stuff for me. I can't complain though. I did rent a drone to take with me, so forgive the excessive aerial footage - I loved being able to see coffee farming from new vantage points.

As always, thanks for the amazing video, James! Loved the way you pictured everything about this procedure, and as I get more and more into coffee I feel even more proud of being Colombian myself

Would love for you to try our coffee.....Small batch, owner operated from start to finish, Santa Rosa de Cabal, Risaralda. I (owner) spend an enormous amount of time making it the best it can be (clean, defects, condition, etc) myself. Truly a one-of-a-kind coffee. Love your stuff by the way, just recently found it so catching up on all your past videos, this one included. Well done.

Hey James! Thank you for an awesome video that brings the audience up close to the farms. One day I want to get into sourcing and this video gave me a lot of insight as to what it looks like to go to the farms and interact with the farmers to produce something amazing.

This was really interesting! At 6:40 where you're sampling, what method do they use to brew all those cups?

Awesome video, the stability with the drone footage is unreal. Looking at the cupping scene they seemed to be using stovetop kettles to heat the water, is there a push to standardise the water in terms of temperature or even the mineral content with titration kits?

Floated coffee still gets sold. Roasted higher and sold likely at a relative premium to local tinto

Look at the condition these specialty coffee farmers are living in compared to commercial coffee growers, no significant difference. Look at the prices of coffee when it reaches us, huge difference. Where did the premiums we paid for goes?

Hi James 😊, I'm from Neiva, Huila and moved to USA over 20 years ago. I'm extremely thankful for your video, it's so exciting to see my hometown's coffee finally been appreciated all over the world 😍 I grew up smelling and drinking this coffee every single day (even mixed with milk into my baby bottle 🤪🍼) and at least two times a day and I'm thankful I never took for granted how perfect Huila's coffee is ☺️. Now I can share your video with my American friends so they can hear the expert's point of view and understand that I was not being biased and that my hometown's coffee is just perfect 😉... So for that I thank you very much!

In most cases, farmers who grow specialty don’t grow specialty exclusively. Usually, a given farm will produce coffees of varying quality, selling the best to specialty roasters and importers, and the rest to large companies as commodity.
