Nice video, i have the exact laptop and am looking to upgrade the HDD SATA 5400RPM 1TB, and intel optane with 16GB. My question is in addition to switching the intel optane with 1TB of Nvme SSD, can I also change the spinning HDD SATA 5400RPM 1TB with an SSD, if yes which SSD will you recommend? Very helpful thanks. I have that unit and worked flawlessly for 4 years. Recently i am having an issue with the screen flickering like it is shorting and then freezing when picked up or pressure on the center left bottom. Forced restart fixes it until moved again. I imaging something loose? I am wondering if you had any ideas or suggestions? I opened it up. No loose wires or connection visible. I removed the SATA drive but the problem persists with the SDD alone. I have read on line that other have the same issue with other Dell laptops as well. If not lifted or flexed on bottom it works fine. Perplexing. Any help is appreciated.

Nice video and good luck with recovery from your injuries. Dell's site says that the max size for the M.2 is 512 GB and the SATA is 2 GB. Do you know if this is accurate or will this model support larger drives? Thanks.

They're usually is no max for storage. I don't believe it. Might be the max configuration they sold. Lol

thanks for the reply! The screen freezes when the laptop is lifted or moved. Restarting fixes the issue until the unit is moved again. Works normally but pressure on bottom or flexing when picked up will freeze again. Pixelated screen. “Static” looking sometimes. In a Dell forum I discovered that this was a known issue with this type of laptop before they were shipped and has to do with the hinges and wires shorting which worries me that it could cause a fire. Being a 2in 1 laptop I would think the hinges are very important and would be engineered for a lifetime of use.

I haven’t tried an external but the laptop screen works fine as long as I don’t try to move it. I can use the keyboard and mouse. Used it for hours with no issue. Just lifting it and allowing the bottom to flex seems to make a contact that shorts and freezes the system. Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Yes, it is possible. I did it by buying another 16gb sodimm of the same type as the installed one.
