17 of 29 dot grid journals brands are made in China - I find B5 journals that are NOT made in China

No hate here. All key information is from the United Nations and Amnesty International.
Sometimes I get comments on my videos that present me with an interesting challenge. A viewer said "Due to personal and professional experience, I avoid any products manufactured in China if at all possible. So I will continue looking for other B5 dot journals."
My interest was piqued, because not only was I interested in the reasons for not wanting to buy a Chinese-made product, I had been meaning to investigate how common B5 journals were.

While Rhodia and Clairefontaine notebooks may be contsructed in Morocco, ALL the paper inside is made in their French mill. They've been making paper for 100+ years.

Agreed. I don’t think they even use Morocco to construct all their products, some are sewn together in France.

Papyrus may have been invented further back.

True, but I think they distinguish that from paper. I’d have to research more.

I found this: Unlike true paper, papyrus is made from plant fibers that have not been broken down. I suppose that's the distinction.

Thank you! My other main reason is sustainability! I do end up buying made in china ones occasionally, but only if I find them in a second hand shop!

Great point! You’re right, use of sustainable forestry practices and recycling is much less common, but is definitely improving. If the world demands things like FSC paper they won’t have any choice but to catch up.
