After nearly 35 years driving class 8 trucks , I have operated several different models , beginning in 1974 with the GMC Astro 95 . I have driven White Freightliners , Kenworth K100 , and W900 , at one point I drove a Mack R model , and in the late 1980s , I drove a Western Star Road Commander , which for what ever the reason , the Western Star was not mentioned here . But, I'll forgive you for that . ;).

The 9800 series Internationals were not "rare"; J.B. HUNT had a fleet of them across the US. FLD's of Freightliner are still used by farms across the U.S. regulated down from highway service.

Drove a 73 White Frieghtliner 3 years. It had a twin turbo 903 Cummins with 4×4

GM's downfall in the class 8 truck market is they were deadfast with only putting their own Detroit Diesels into their trucks not giving the options of CAT or Cummins or IH power plants.

What about 90% of the world population does not know is Electro-Motive Division of GM; this division builds train locomotives and have worldwide customers. The small little fact people do not know is the EMD diesel engines used in their locomotives is they share varied design cues with the Detroit Diesel; i.e. when you open up the head cover and take a look at the rack; that's the #1 spotting feature, #2 is the EMD diesels are ALSO a two stroke diesel engine as well; this goes as far back as EMC; (Electro Motive Corporation; before they became EMD when GM bought EMC in 1939. The Winton engines in the EMC's, the 567 diesel built under EMD, the 645, and the 710, today's EMD power plants until they get a tier 4 emissions compliant diesel designed & tested and in the locomotives they currently build. Their 265 "H-Block" was an engineering nightmare & it was designed for their SD90MAC's; none of the H block equipped SD90MAC's are running no more; they have been sent off to scrap, or repowering per the next customer(s). CUMMINS Diesel dropped in one of their QSK95 diesels into one of the SD90MAC's as a test mule; this locomotive last known location was down on the Indiana Railroad.......

These are the most popular semi models how are they rare and the superliner isn’t rare isn’t either you clown I have 2 have them tri axle dump trucks both 3406s one with a 13 one with a 18spd and i literally just picked up my Mack rd 688 from the frame shop this morning brand new frame rails no cutback under the cab bullshit brand new full length double frame rails she’s good for another 25 30 yrs I’d say went in the shop worth prolly 30-35k and came out worth a 100k
