17-story building coming to downtown Scranton

"It's exciting to have a tall building here". It's only going to be 30 feet taller than the current tallest building in Scranton and about the same height as Luzerne National Bank in Wilkes-Barre. It won't even be as tall as Scranton Bank Towers originally was before the 60 ft mast atop was removed in 1970. Scranton already had several tall buildings. They were just all built long before you were born, so you don't think of them much. The Electric Building and The Mears Building near the courthouse were two of the first skyscrapers in the world.
