17 Things I Wish I Knew Before College! Or rather, 17 pre college tips because I ended up getting on my soapbox lol. What pre-college questions/ concerns do you have?!?!

I'm planning to ED Dartmouth for neuroscience, but I've heard of the recent sexual assault scandals with the professors at the department, should I be concerned with this/should it affect my decision? Also have you had any negative experience with peers or professors there?

omg AMAZING question. I personally don't think that it should deter you from applying/ going into the field of your dreams as thankfully the school is FINALLY dealing with it and that sort of thing should hopefully never ever ever happen again at Dartmouth. I have personally not been in contact with those professors, though a few friends of mine took their classes/ worked in their labs. They never had distinctly negative experiences with them, but of course, regardless we're glad they're no longer around. Hope this answers your question!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for six years. I really want to apply to Dartmouth ED, but I’m also considering attending University of Wisconsin-Madison. My BF wants me to go to Madison way more than NH, because he would go with me, but I’m really attracted to Dartmouth’s academics. This has already put a lot of strain on our relationship, and I don’t know if our relationship would survive if I attended Dartmouth. What is your advice? Is Dartmouth worth it? Or should I stick with UW Madison, where I know I’ll still be academically successful at the end of the day?

As a high schooler I feel these tips apply to high school too. Like “no one gives a frick what sport teams or sorority groups you were involved with in college” same with high school how no one cares that you were president of like idk 3 clubs, aka me... oop but yea this was helpful

and my mom always said that it should be personal and have your voice to the point where if a friend picked it up on the street and it had no name on it, they would know it was you. that's kind of a weird analogy, but it's helpful to think about balancing a more serious/ professional tone with letting your personality come out in how you write. also, I always tried to be more interesting than impressive:)

Hi there! Hmmm it's true that international admissions work a little differently than US, but definitely still apply! I have quite a few friends from China/ other Asian countries at Dartmouth and they've done extremely well there!
