BWF needs to revise the regulation to have AED as mandatory in any tournaments. Cardiac arrest happens more often than what people think. US has made it mandatory even for schools to have AED

probably hypokalemia, low potassium in blood. potassium is crucial for muscle functions and heart is a muscular organ. High intensity sports can cause low potassium due to excessive sweating. Medic should start chest compression right away and shout for aed.

I keep saying all the time.....learn to keep your heart at rest. Playing, gym, exercise is ok but that increases heart beat but one must be able to reduce the heart beat to 4-5 beats per minute or lower and that too consciously at will

Absolutely sheer medical staff incompetence. Rules are made by men. The umpire is not a medical personnel who, from this incident, clearly shows her poor knowledge of the emergency given that the player had convulsions & did not move for several seconds. If the umpire is to judge when medical help is needed, then all umpires must attend & pass a course on recognising medical emergencies. This umpire & the medical staff killed a young rising badminton player.
