They need more programs for kids that range in between, my son scored high on his IQ test, he was bored in school and they had some gifted classes but still nothing that challenged him enough to stay focused. Teachers would get frustrated that he would finish early and talk, they called him disruptive. One teacher went out of her way to not give him extra work but gave him ways to challenge himself as a reward, but that was only one year of school, most teachers were over worked and too many kids to deal with it. I finally got him to finish high school by taking his GED early, and enrolled him into college. But it was a battles to find ways to help him and schools weren’t helpful, if I could have afforded a private school back then I would have done that, or if they had college classes these kids could take. I know things have changed, and I hope they focus on seeing a kids potential and find ways to help him, whether he has a high iq or learns differently.

Truly smart kids, especially with the access to Internet these days, will find ways to extend themselves if they want to. Plenty of kids don't have access to private schools or gifted classes. They teach themselves with the resources they have, such as those freely available on the internet or local library.

Blondz if your kid is that extraordinary let him finish an IB diploma at his age now with a score of 45/45 and 1600 on SATs along with few APs should be easy for him if he is that smart! Remember to post his score to your channel too!

I was 15 when I went to law school. I live in Europe and skipped several years of high school. I did not have any help from anyone or attend a special online program like this student. I just went through the conventional high school route, graduated at 15 and went to a traditional university/law school, not an online one. If I knew about or was given the opportunity to study with Harvard Extension online school - I would have loved to have done that as well! American students have so many great education opportunities! It is a shame that European universities do not allow younger students to complete online degrees like this student. I would have loved to have had an American graduation ceremony/cap/gown as well! :)

My grandparents met in college by chance. This is their love story. My grandpa wanted to start university at 19, but he got drafted for the Korean War at 18. He ended up starting college in his 20s. He got a bachelors in math from the local state university and met my grandma, who was a student at the women’s university down the street. She majored in sewing and minored in english, but she really enjoyed chemistry. College was sexist back then. The women in her family were too busy raising children to attend her graduation. She cried, but my grandpa made her feel better. They settled down in the city. She became a secretary at a law firm, and he applied for a tech job. That company said they’d hire him if he got a masters degree, and they’d pay for everything. He chose the Christian university bc it was close to his house, and his faith reminded him of my grandma, a devout baptist. After getting his masters, he taught adult math at night to earn extra money. He spent so much time away from my grandma that their marriage suffered. When he got an offer from the pentagon, they divorced. He lived in Washington by himself until he retired at 65. His boss liked how he made everyone’s schedule and admired him as an engineer. That’s why he let him stay past 60. He remarried my grandma the year he retired. She fell back in love with him when he told her that he earned all that money for her. They’re in their 80s now and still happily married. They attend church together twice a week. Lifelong learners, they enjoy learning about God’s universe together.

This is incredibly misleading. He's graduating from Harvard Extension School, which is online and open to anyone willing to pay. It's not the same thing as receiving an undergraduate degree from Harvard College (which has an acceptance rate of

That’s not true. Currently, there are less than .18% of the less than 30,000 enrolled into the Harvard Extension School that graduate. Braxton graduated with a A.L.B. (Bachelor of Liberal Arts) in a major in government with a minor in English after six years and has attended physical class at Harvard for those years (during summers). It’s a Harvard College degree with all its accreditation.

Braxton is an amazing person and he's going to do great things. But going to Harvard Extension is nothing like the rest of Harvard. It's a great alternative college but it's not the same caliber of Harvard College. No mentioning that he attend a Harvard Extension program is really representative of what happened.

While the kid's hardworking fruit should be celebrated and congratulated, let's not lose the focus on the fact that Harvard Extension degree is NOT the same as regular Harvard degree. Such ignorance implicitly disparaged the achievements of students who overcame significant odds and were admitted to Harvard for regular education. Extension programs are a short cut to a degree. Students there go through little or no resistance on route to a degree. The programs are mostly designed for elderly people or people pursuing second career options. If you exam programs carefully, you may doubt whether the kid has made the best choice for himself.
