Instead going to the E why not playing a Bb left hand with the same Ab C D G(or F) right hand? Sounds more melodious and subtle, don't you think? By the way, I really like the added Dsharp on the "second" degree, kind of magic trick I'm sure I wouldn't have ever done this without your input (as on his own and out context it sounds very dark and "wrong";-)

I think it'll be good if you just explain which chords to use when going to another chord so that it can be applied in any other song we wish to play. I suggest you use progressions instead of songs and be slow when using the passing chords so that we can get it

So basically Mr Warren when playing the 7-3-6: i. Playing the 2nd of the key you are in with the (7) in the bass. ii. Play the 4th of the previous key. The 4th of B major is E major right. ...and that ladies and gentlemen is the Circle of Fourths. "Keep listening, keep practicing, and keep playing"

Warren I'm still confused of what chords you are playing. It sounds good but I don't know how to recognize #9 b13 or what. I'm just copying of what you're doing but I don't know what's the name of that chord HAHA😅. -from Philippines 🇵🇭
@PianoLessonwithWarren3 жыл бұрын
You have to learn the theory rules governing chords and harmony. It’s not something you’re going to understand until you actively information about it.
@miltonsaucedo22232 жыл бұрын
#9 b13 is aka a #5#9. (A #5 is equivalent to a b13..(b6) ).. one hack i use to make this chord is, play root in the the bass, then on the major 3rd degree, play a maj7b5 chord (root position)…. That will give you the chord we’re talking about (Dom 7 #5#9 chord)

Love this discussion. This lesson is only easy for people who normally play with digital software programs that consistently name cords as they play. Currently I use free editions of Ableton live lite and Pro tools DAW software on my computer connected to my Keystation88 controller. Warren I have always been confused about why 251 progressions are so popular. The 251 concept occurring in any key is still not appealing to me, but your renditions are great. I will revisit this 251.
