Mike Reed. The one and only. The dude just flat gets it done! Such a cool personality too. Awesome hunt I had a decent 8 put on a show for my just the same way Sunday morning and i hit a branch trying to thread the needle just like you also. It was such a treat to see that one of those once in a lifetime hunts so it didnt even bug me that I hit that limb. He'll be bigger next year hopefully if he makes it through gun season.

What was planted for that late season mix during the winter hunt?
@mikereed387817 күн бұрын
Soybeans! Hard to get much else to grow on the wetland. A lot of deer end up on the farm late season after getting pushed around during the shotgun season. They find the food and stay the winter. Thanks for watching!

His crab claws look like the look alike ten
@mikereed387817 күн бұрын
That was my gut reaction when I first got the trail cam pic of him. It’s hard for us to show all the comparisons but after my neighbor and I got our photos together and reviewed video etc, looking at brows, and other characteristics , this was the older buck. Also you can see how big his body was and his bases etc. I have the sheds off the young one as well which showcase some of the differences in configuration. Oddly enough, two days after I shot vinny, the look alike buck showed up on camera. He’s a beautiful 4 yo. Very easy to tell it’s him. Future target!

Was that the closest shot you have had on a mature buck like that?
@MidwestWhitetailVideos17 күн бұрын
Tommy, without talking to Mike the only one that comes to mind that may have been closer was the Gronk buck back in 2017 but it's tough to say! Thank you a ton for taking the time to watch and for subscribing all of these years. We sure hope you enjoyed the show and good luck as the best days are upon us!
@mikereed387817 күн бұрын
Tommy, The buck we called Dak was at about 7 yards in the pinch when I shot him in 2021. Also, the turkey foot buck on the home farm out of the cherry tree was at about 7 yards in 2020. While this buck came to the base of the tree, the shot was 7-10 yards from the base thankfully. All three of these bucks were about the same, under the tree! Ha. Gronk was about 10-12 yards away in 2017. Thank you and good luck!

That was an great shot that many would mess up. What pin did you use for 3 yards?
@mikereed387817 күн бұрын
Top pin! I’ve have an adjustable site but had it set at 20 yards. Have to aim just below the brisket/body line for correct point of impact. I’m 30ft up in this set so practice these circumstances. You’re right! It’s an easy one to shoot over the back. I’ve done it before!
