Just made strawberry jam - know the smell. Did you know it's called strawberries because the original wild strawberries are much smaller and kids used to gather them by treading the little berries on a straw so you could bring them with you?

You guys should try and replicate the trendy fruit that looks like corn on the cob but tastes like banana, pineapple, and oranges. It is called monstera deliciosa and is native to southern Mexico. I’ve never tried it, unfortunately, but I would rather get your candy to try. The fruit can be poisonous if you don’t let it ripen correctly. A taste test of the monstera and a “can we replicate” video would be a ton of fun! Thank you!

I have some ripening in my garden right now but I've always been too afraid to try it! I think this time I will!
@jacksongrantham4848 Жыл бұрын
@@mollycoad5752 From what I've heard, the way you tell if it is ripe, is that pieces of the skin will flake/fall off in little hexagonal cells, and the fruit under those cells will be safe to eat. Don't force the skin off it hasn't fallen off others though, that's a recipe for a bad time.

Forgot to mention* all of the cut off ends are also sold in shop there and end up being quite a lot of candy for the price. They don't look anywhere near as good but they still have all the flavor. Banana is my absolute favorite candy from here. They always seemingly have flavors you haven't tried.

You mentioned the cooking table was made from “mild” steel, what is “mild steel” as opposed to normal steel?
@LoftyPursuits2 жыл бұрын
Mild steel also casts and rolls better, and is more brittle. But it's a table. It's good it can't keep an edge. But with a 1/2" thick top, what's going to hurt it?

Perhaps a proprietary-like business detail you'd prefer not to disclose, but how much $$ in raw sugar is a batch of that? I've been thinking about the process of becoming an expert, and how it's probably possible to, while learning, "ruin" a batch or two. Is it a costly learning process?

Why is the coloring "buffered" with water? Just to make it easy to pour? What would it look like if there was no water?

It distributes more evenly. If you just use a powder, it looks like there's this powder suspended in the clear candy.

What is the reason you don't sell unicorn droppings online? Is it a packaging and shipping issue, or do you just not make enough of them to justify trying?
@LoftyPursuits2 жыл бұрын
Part of it's a packaging issue, but the other part is we sell every last one through our store and we're off and out of them completely. We only make one or two per batch of candy.
