I love that Phil, who gets so much hate from the cool kids, gets so much respect from musicians. To me, he'll always be a drummer first and foremost, but starting writing and singing lead so late on, and to turn out to be so damn good at it (whatever the cool kids say), still has me shaking my head.

Whenever I decide to start playing bass again my goal is to learn this song. It used to make me sob as a child, so much so that I couldn’t listen to it. I had to get through that again recently as an adult so I could enjoy it without the inexplicable emotion. This song will be a beautiful haunting melody for me as long as I live. It’s just so powerful.

I'm a drummer but I've always loved bass. This song, this very song, has to be my absolute favourite bass track. I was ten years old when this came out. My older brother bought But Seriously... on vinyl and someone in the house recorded it onto tape. I remember sitting outside listening to this track over and over in my dad's van (the bass was good in there), always rewinding and doing that thing where you try and guesstimate how long you let it rewind till you hit the start of the song again! Older people remember those days...! I still come back to this track so often and always crank up the bass. I love listening to how your fingers dance, especially in the end choruses as they repeat. Those little "twirls" between lines... All in all it's a beautiful, beautiful bassline, goes so nicely with Phil's amazing rhythmic magic. Thank you!

My wife and I took our four kids on a 17 day road trip around the western United States to see some of the national parks. WOW. I just hit the 'appreciation' you are stating for Phil Collins. I loved Genesis since the '70s. But never got into the lyrics or listened to Mr. Collin's albums. I am now 70 yrs old and FINALLY truly listening. I am realizing how great Phil Collins is (and Genesis). To hear you say you are just getting really 'in to it' now is a revelation. Better late than never, eh? Tell Phil some of us know what a subtle treasure he is. Soul is never something of which we NEVER tire. Thanks. (to be a good drummer you can not be meek)

There is a whole slew of us who have played or sung all of our lives and have never gotten the gig opportunity we always thought we would have just because we couldn’t figure out how or just couldn’t walk off from life and go across country...or didn’t believe we could, anyway. This has connected us all. Maybe this will be the thing that helps us all figure out either how to do it or that we could have all along. Really. For a lot of us very talented musicians, it’s been just the mental or physical block of “HOW”, when things are so different in our generation.

1989 feels like yesterday to me, too. It's funny that, as I get older, memories of my childhood years become even stronger and more meaningful. Phil's music has that affect on me, too. He's so indescribably singular. In many ways, his voice defined the 80's for me.

Been a Phil fan since seeing the Live at Perkins Palace video (as in a video cassette) when I was 11. Most of my lifelong Phil favourites are from Face Value and HIMBG. But I remember buying But Seriously at Our Price Records, the day it came out - and while all 12 songs resonated in different ways, Find A Way To My Heart became one of my instant favourites. And still is. It's nearly up there with Take Me Home as the perfect album bookend... Hearing Leland play it made me smile on a v rough day...

Hi Leland. I watch your videos everyday here in the UK. I haven’t been outside the bungalow for 4 months, except to go for a walk. I watch while I drink my morning cup of tea and try and figure out what to do with my day. I really love being led along some musical alleyway that I might have avoided without the right company. Who knew Phil Collins post Genesis was worth a listen! You’re part of my morning routine and the days are each a little better for that. The voices of sanity are too easily drowned out across the world - I just hope the next 10 years or so aren’t as bleak as they look like they’re going to be. Thank you for the music. 🎸🥇Ps you must have the cleanest yard in Pasadena!

🎼 I live in south Florida & made a mention of Mr. Collins the other day. Someone caught up with him one day while walking in PAIN down the street & he just let out a big smile & wave. You are my big smile & wave for the day!! There are a very small amount of gentlemen out there.. & you , Phil, Ian Anderson are a special sort to me.. There are more , but I think you get the idea. Its not always about the music. Through Steve Morse , who also lives here in Florida, DEEP PURPLE. Have decided to sell the crew t-shirts of the missed concert(s) I believe it was there SWOOSH new album? ( may be wrong, but the idea is correct) . And give the proceeds to the to the crew!! ... There's a little giving back, recycling & very smart idea to help the little guy behind the scenes. Wanted to throw that out there in case there's a few warehouses full of band merch that's not going anywhere!! Luvya, Leland ❤🐾🐾 PS- beautiful artwork!!... Any of the pups?
