🦆🦆 That's fantastic!!!! We love ducks!!! Never take just one on as a family pet, though, unless you are available 24/7. They bond.

Lee - I've had the good fortune to speak at conferences around the lower 48 for the "American Association of neurosurgeons" and one of the gigs/conferences was held in Orlando. In Orlando, the conference was held at the second Peabody Hotel. I've never been to the Memphis Peabody but the Orlando version looks identical to today's video. Fortunately or unfortunately, my room was on the second floor just above the main lobby. So the music was my alarm clock and appreciation of the ducks a.m. schedule depended on how much I partied the night before… The "fanfare music" would begin precisely at the same time each day for the Peabody duck parade as the famous waterfowl were showing up for work. Too fun! When I received notice of your uploading this afternoon's video, I had to stop what I was doing and reminisce about my history with these famous ducks! Thank you so much once again for sharing your life on the road with all of us! Blessings…

I'm happy to see the tradition lives on. We awoke just to see the duck walk many years ago. It's something I hadn't thought about in years. Thanks, Leland. It's the memory I shared with my dearheart who passed in Sept. 1999. ♡

I would like to visit Nashville, Memphis, Macon and Miami, in the future. I know that Memphis and Nashville, have such a great amount of musical talent. Tennessee, as a whole, does. I remember jamming with some blues musicians at The Chauteau Louis Hotel, after a blues music festival in Edmonton, Alberta. We did a cover of Hound Doug (I was on drums). It was a lot of fun. Cheers, Leland!

@Rig17-Ruffcervical I had a toy drumset. In school, I learned to play on a set of Ludwing drums that were like Ringo Starr's, or very close to those. Cheers!

Peabody Hotel is just an incredible place. The Ducks rock. Your are a long ways to the gig from the Peabody. Surprised you did not stay next to the gig at the new big Hampton. Oh well who am I?? Have a great show.

Some of this reminds me of The Chateau Louis Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta. I've seen a piano like that too at that hotel. I would go there after a blues music festival in Edmonton, that we have every August, and I even jammed with blues musicians, at the hotel (on drums and percussion). Leland. Have you ever seen Booker T & The MGs live, and did you meet any of the members, or work with them on any musical projects? I wish those in Florida, and Maureen all the best. Cheers, Leland! 🙏✌️

The other great thing at the hotel is Lansky Bros. Gave Elvis his first suit for free to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show with the deal that if Elvis made it big Lansky would be Elivis' personal taylor. The rest is history.

Yay❣️ When you said it's about the ducks, I remembered getting to hear the fan fair of them coming down the elevator procession. I think Mary DeVito got them on her instagram maybe more than a couple of times. That plus many times her feeding her beloved Helen who was a regular Goose near her place at Michigan, was a feature of her channel. 💖💕

Dig up his looong interview in the late 70s LIVING BLUES Magazine, by Jim O Neal - sth like 30 pages. Tells ALL about ...dem peckawoods all o er (the sheriff of Clarksdale etc) . He was verbally as accurate as w his piano playing. A very thorough personality, sharp and succint, but somewhat bitter due to the treatment the Chesses gave him (no royalty privileges, but to the lbl only). Was the Peabody elevator boy prewar already, before makin it in the blues biz ...IMMSMC. 🇫🇮
