I’m sure I speak for everyone who has a spark subscription right now. PLEASE Drop more plugins, SOONER! And we want the STANDARDS! Distressor, SSL, Manley, Neve, cmon guys. The plugins currently on spark aren’t bad plugins but a lot of them are just the kinds of plugins I either don’t want, or don’t find myself using as often, sometimes if at all. We want the plugins that we’re gonna use all the time, the true workhorses. SSL channel strips. SSL Buss Compressor. Manley VOXBOX. You know the ones! A lot of these plugins on spark I either use maybe once or twice and the rest I almost ignore completely. I KNOW your guys’s plugins are still the gold standard and that’s why I’m still paying for the subscription, but cmon. You can give us the more unique plugins later on down the line. For now, start with the big ones that most people are going to want to use all the time.

They won't do it because it's the only thing keeping Apollo sales going (IF people are still actually buying them). Also, current owners would immediately start selling their units. At least until they release a new line of interfaces I wouldn't expect anything other than newly developed plug-ins being added to Spark.

Spark is going down everyday. It turns like Garageband vs Logic when you look at satuation with other brands. Why i need badly this compressor while i have 1176 and LA-2A already. We need something special we can not find anywhere else. Like Capital Chambers, Manley, Chandler... Don't hide your high end products. We pay too. Not only Apollo users pay. I dont think no one pay this for using Century Tube Channel Strip. Your plug-ins can not find a place to themselves in my workflow day by day.

@@jazzybeeff yep. I tried using the century but I just could not find myself using its compressor or even its eq on any of my inserts as neither sound that great on the things I want to use it for like heavier vocals or guitars/basses.

Hi! I’m subscribed to Spark but recently it’s been clear that is not focused on giving us the best tools since this is the 5th tube compressor we are receiving (la2a, capitol, fairchild, century) but we have so few eq options as well as reverbs or saturations. Also no amp emulation is not looking good for the spark users. 😢

If ampex, atr 610, distressor or something like that doesn't come, I'll focus on other companies (whose plugins cost a little more so I'll have to save some money) and later, when it's interesting, I'll buy something .. or not too, it will to know!

Yeah, apart from the Distressor, that fender tweed amp sim is one I’ve been wanting to try ever since I saw the demo of it many years ago.

@UniversalAudio Are there any plans to release native versions of existing UAD DSP Plugins that were developed by Softube, Brainworx etc? I think it's important to be open about this, so that nobody is mislead into thinking that will or won't happen.

Nope. They're worried that everyone will sell their Apollo's. Think about it - nobody with a computer/laptop less than a year old needs an Apollo's DSP. Even with 10 Satellites an M1-PRO can run 15x as many instances of a plugin... without an interface (and power adapter). I sold my Apollo and all my licences after realizing this - I even bet friends they wouldn't port everything over within a year (they laughed at me). lol. I repurchased everything through Plugin Alliance and Softube, etc... for less than half the price (made a big profit) and left UA Connect behind as well (no more internet needed, no more iLok, no more Apollo, no more plug-ins disappearing when wifi drops out for half a second...) God, I LOVE working anywhere, anytime on my laptop. The outdoors and travel are a great thing when it comes to feeling inspired... instead of always being chained to a bunch of hassles.

@@deepvan9796 I did exactly the same, it's good to be free of those old X series Apollo's and the frustration of their limited DSP and not being able to use the plugins for lack of DSP. How they continue to sell them is beyond me. I just don't get how, after so much feedback, they're still not churning out the old DSP versions as native versions and really accelerating development on those and LUNA. It's sad to see, I suspect all is not well at Universal Audio.

I guess I’m not the only one who finally got sick and tired of waiting on UAD to deliver. I sold my 3 Apollo X’s. As others said, it’s good to be free of the old UAD Apollo’s and their limitations. I just wonder what’s up with UAD, from here it looks like they be driving over a cliff.

While this might be a nice plug-in. I'm disappointed with Spark. Just one plug-in added after many weeks, and isn't even what people have been asking for since the beginning. NO SSL, Neve, Manley, Distressor. I mean c'mon we know y'all read the comments, as you guys are responding to all the positive ones.

Do you think you’ll ever get actual customer service for UAD customers? My UAD-2 Satellite has been telling me about a firmware update for days and then aborts when I try to update. I can’t use anything. It seems like your customer service is limited to a penpal style interaction. I waited three days to hear back. Love your products, but this isn’t wonderful. Anyone know of other companies who are a bit more responsive that have this level of quality?

Lol I can relate to this. I have an issue with one of my hardware devices and reached out to them. Probably would’ve been faster to send the request via carrier pigeon 😂 UAD makes great sounding stuff, but they’re lacking in the support dept. Good luck to you!

@@ryanholladay449 thanks, yeah still no word back from their support department. Apparently this is pretty common, according to message boards I’ve read, especially when it comes to their satellite devices since they’ve pivoted to native. Oh well.

Have you contacted AppleCare? I know you said it’s hardware based but it sounds like it’s an update so maybe they can walk you through it. (Assuming you are using a Mac) It’s not ideal, I know, but it’s pretty well established that UAD’s customer support is some of the least responsive in pro audio, so if you want a solution, it might be worth trying that approach. Sorry about that.

This is the reason I cancelled my subscription. They give you all the plugins you don’t need. The only way ill ever come back to UAD Spark is seeing the addition of SSL, Neve, VOG, Distressor and their reverbs. You know. All the plugins we see from producers who own of the Apollo.

Thanks for your prompt response. I have no doubt all your plugins are great but you know what we want. I don’t want to pay for Spark subscription and have to reach for waves ssl and or reverb. I would like to make UAD my home but every time i see a producer whip out the Fairchild, Neve, Ssl and all the plugins that are not included in Spark and feel cheated on.

C'mon, @@DavidMohMusic .... just spend $1k+ on an Apollo then buy those plug-ins, and enjoy being able to only use a few instances at a time... and always have to have an Apollo connected to open any sessions saved with them. You don't need the freedom of working without a giant dongle... i mean, "interface." 😁

No, Spark is our subscription option and is native only. You CAN buy native plugins and they come with a DSP license.

The 1176 is a solid state FET design while the 175B & 176 are tube-driven, so they're pretty different tonally - however they both share similar fast attack times and aggressive character.

I’m gonna need you guys to include the more used plugins in spark these are cool, but man there’s no reason why I should only be able to use maybe 4-5 ssl channel strips on my quad duo before the DSP runs out, the most used plugins should be spark and I don’t wanna hear about that business model stuff either lol, you’d make a killing off a native SSL/Neve channel strip brainworks SSL native and waves wouldn’t stand a chance.

I am sure these may be nice plugins, but are they level matched? I ask because the change in volume is quite profound, at least on my system. I do know that when UAD mimics hardware there is usually at least a 1.5db increase per the manual, so I am wondering was that accounted for in this demo.

It's an old trick that they pull a lot. It would be so easy to write an Auto-Gain function and copy and paste it into the code for every plugin they sell, but they won't, for this very reason. It's a bit dishonest, they know full well what they're doing.

Believe it or not the level mismatch in this demo is a lot less profound than that in other A/B videos. I think that if the product works then the level-matched sound will still be compelling but I guess marketing departments are afraid to take that chance.

Just suscribed to spark last month and frankly… im disappointed. I thought I would find more variety and some of the plugins that really make a difference (ams revberb, distressor, etc). I subscribed annually thinking that there would be more releases, but whit things like this im afraid it will not happen - In the day to day use I found that in spark there are really only a few plugins that do more or less the same thing, few eq and reverb options. The manufacturers don't realize that betraying the expectations they themselves create with their marketing pitches is killing their brands. Anyway...

Two trick pony. Terrible on bass, keys and drums (Too much distortion), but good on vocals and guitar. Forget anything electronic.

I also found that that attack knob on both versions of the plugin seem to do almost nothing, if not that. I tried recording two files with the attack on 0 and the attack all the way up, and the difference when flipping the polarity of one of them is so miniscule, its basically audiophile tier snake oil. I actually do like the plugin for squashing room mics and overheads, and vocals like you mentioned, but the attack knob on both of them is literally useless. I don’t know if the actual hardware was like that too, but either way, I have no idea what its doing.
