For all these years I just realized now that for every major key , all the major chords have relative minor chords of which are diatonic to your key. Which means Warren has basically taught me diatonic chord substitution haha. Thanks for revealing that .um looking forward to understand why they say we 30 keys in music instead of 24 ...

Best music lesson ever! Learnt these chord substitutions in 2014 but didn't know they are called relative minors until 2022. Funny enough, have learnt about relative minors but couldn't see the connection on my own. Thank you Warren!!!!!

You've gained my attention and you simply nailed it. That has been my hurdle; trying to identify and utilize relatives, minor chords, and diminished chords. I can't wait to learn some more. I just love your gospel selections; they're just perfect for the worship keyboardist.

i call my relative minors nieces and nephews, some folk even grand kids and the relation is the bond u create..everything is relative when you come right down to it and can intuit...relative majors are martial if i haven't missed it but how they serve is beyond me at this point...and grace is amazing too which is the first second...;

Warren, can I please make a request for a future video. I watched your video transcribing Bill Withers - Lovely Day and it was so valuable to me, but I was wondering if you could do a similar one where you show in more detail your method for transcribing rhythm and using your fingers as "drums" when playing notes as this is something I have lots of troubles and I love your teaching style. Thanks again for creating this channel with so much free content, you are incredible.

That was nice; how u changed the 1 to a dominant 7 in as the deer. What is the technical name for that? As in changing the quality of the scale degrees, as u did?
