You are a smart person mtaran02, I wish I never sold mine. But I like the copy I got and I just purchased a second copy that looks even better.

@@NerdWorkshop1 Thank you! I just have a big soft spot for all my early games. Even if they are not the greatest, they are the start of a wonderful hobby. : o)

One of favorites. Especially with the Leadership Module addition from The General

I'd love to see Avalon Digital publish a video game version of this old classic. The constantly shifting amount of militia really made the campaign quite an interesting challenge.

It would be fun to have a video game version of this one.

Excellent, this game doesn’t get enough attention. Although the GMT series is now far superior, this is still a great classic!! Easily Available too, for usually great prices!

I agree I do like the GMT series (I have all of them) but there is still a place for this one on the game table. I find it easier to play now than it was back when I played it some time ago.

Great game, great video! I have at least 2 copies of this great old classic. Can you post a link for your counter trays/boxes? ...or the replacements you are going to make? They look like something I could use. :)

Thanks GrumblingGrognard. You can fine those holders on thingaverse, they were designed for Squad Leader counters. I will be posting better one as soon as I get them designed.

Had it since the 1970s, never played it much because I think the rules were beyond me at the time. Recently started playing it along with some book readings of the Revolutionary War ( I am loving Dan Atkins' "The British are Coming", first of a coming trilogy.) I am surprised how well the game seems to model history. It's a little challenging to play solo, particularly with the tactical cards; you can't pick them in secret when you are the only player. Random rolls to determine tactics are ok using a d8 but sometimes "General Dice" will pick stupid tactics, like "withdraw" when you have 4-1 advantage. Anyone have any suggestions or rules for solitaire play, I'd love to see them. By the way, nice video, I'm also in the camp of really liking the board (except for the length, only the dining room table will work for me.)

Thanks David, Yeah the board does require a long table to play, but I do have some great memories of this game. Thanks for watching.

There were rules and counters for leaders which appeared in the General but I found them online. Drawing on a rule in SPIs Desert Fox, I would count each infantry or dragoon point in an attack as one, each artillery unit as two, then total and roll a 20 die after each assault. If the die number was the same or less than the tally, the supply unit was depleted and removed. Also introduced Hessian units which give the British additional manpower, but are subject to reduced combat effectiveness and random desertion unless stacked with British regulars

Nice presentation, thanks, I own it as well. Have you played it solitaire? Your counter storage boxes are fantastic! Can you give me any information about acquiring them? Different sizes (1/2, 5/8, 1inch)? Thanks again.
