🎉🎉💐💐🎂🎂. Early Happy Birthday to Mrs. Sklar!!! ESP! We had been talking about Mac Davis over here in the last number of days re: "Musicians on TV in the 70's who were not Mac Davis" (Jim Stafford and John Hartford). Never knew all of this though! You highly successful efficient people are such lightweights! When we lost a hose bibb servicing+/- 3 dozen plants in110 degree weather we wound up driving in water for the whole summer. Do we need an emoji with a dunce cap? Yes! But do any of you know how much a gallon of water weighs? 8.3 pounds. Cardio! Muscle 💪🏻! Who needs a gym membership?

I enjoyed his show, happy but sorta solomn seeming presence, and his tunes. My parents watched his show when I was small, and I was amazed how many popular tunes he'd written. for some reason the episode I recall is when he told of writing "In the ghetto", then sang it. Glad i had exposure to their musical influences, mine wouldn't have been so diverse if not for that. Thanks for the reprise on his life

Hi Lee. I’m off topic here but I learned of something just last night and wanted to let you know: in your Rita video of We’re All Alone you said that Rita is “our generations’ Brenda Lee.” Well I caught a Brenda documentary film on PBS last night and within her commentary she stated that her oldest school friend is Rita Coolidge. I mean…what were the odds of me hearing this? I nearly fell off my couch with joy and immediately remembered your comment!

Might've been uploaded very slightly slower to get past the algorithm. I remember liking that song hearing it on radio here when it came out. Also had some songbook compilations i just liked leafing through at the piano when we had one back at home briefly, with a wide variety of 70's songs, and was surprised to find many songs by Mac that I hadn't realized were also, his. I think I still wasn't sure if I should've gone to Lubbock or Abilene, where I ended up, eventually. All this makes me think of contemplating that and playing around downstairs with the piano to take the edge off of things while Hooter, (bubba's hound dog) would start howling along. 💕 outside the window of the piano room. That same book had Almost Like A Song in it, which was Ronnie. Such a gorgeous piano arrangement.

@@artemisXsidecross Really enjoyed hearing him over the years with Marlena on ACB radio online at least one holiday during the year, usually Thanksgiving or Easter. It would be a little interview but mostly hanging out for a few hours after lunch or dinner, and sometimes taking questions, or sharing information about accessible sound gear stuff. They had gone to school together in Raleigh as kids. You could hear his whole family including grandkids running around in the background and occasionally over to him to ask about something or other. Sadly Marlaina passed a few years ago, and I lost track of the ACB radio connection after Windows XP wasn't supported by microsoft anymore. Took me awhile to get another PC, and also to get this phone working again after the iOS 9.5 or something leading up to 10.0 updates. So went almost without internet from October 2015 to near a year later before I could get this to work without always being plugged into an outlet. Then it was around New Years 2020 before I got something with Windows 10 on it. Totally lost track with what's happening with Ronnie, since all that. Still love his work.

My father's claim to fame in 1976 was to have one of his songs called "Paint" performed by Mac on his variety show. I have only an audio cassette of the segment. If there's anyone on here that can possibly direct me to a link or possible contact info to see if there's any footage of it, it'd be greatly appreciated. It's been a life long search that would be nice to finally track down. Thanks.

‘Bernard Alfred "Jack" Nitzsche, (April 22, 1937 - August 25, 2000) was an American musician, arranger, songwriter, composer, and record producer. He came to prominence in the early 1960s as the right-hand-man of producer Phil Spector, and went on to work with the Rolling Stones, Neil Young, and others. He worked extensively in film scores for the films Performance, The Exorcist and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. In 1983, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for co-writing "Up Where We Belong" with Buffy Sainte-Marie.’ wiki. His work on the film Performance and the song ‘Memo From Turner’ is a song still being played in our house. It is worth a look up especially after the current American election.
