Very sad to watch the last parade. My grandfather was in the 21st Lancers and was in the front rank of the charge at Omdurman. He was also in the Regimental Band.

Just found your video my dad served in the 16/5th queen's royal lancers. He was a chef but I know he did tours of beruit and Germany. He did many others too. And he also worked in H.M Buckingham Palace. As we used to stay at the union Jack Hotel as kids. His name was terrace larkin or ( terry ) does it ring a bell. I have a photo of him when he was about 16 or 17 when he first joined up next to a chef and another guy

It's the final parade of the Regimental Band, formed from the 16th/5th and 17th/21st Lancers bands, at Imphal Barracks, Osnabruck, 11 July 1994

When was this parade? Is the band the combined regimental band of the two regiments? Or was it already the band of the Royal Lancers?

16th/5th is nothing to be sorry about john. I was both 17th/21st and 16th/5th, proud to have served in two very fine cavalry regiments.
